What if Lord Slug Wished For Immortality?

The ringing in his ears was unbearable... but where, where was it? In a desperate panic, his eyes darted around him, eventually landing on the young boy who had the first Dragon Ball. It was him! The ringing was coming out of his mouth!

"Stop! Enough! I said, stop!" Lord Slug roared, firing a blast aimed for the child, silencing him at last.

Taking a second to recuperate, his eyes returned to the man he was fighting before, intent on finishing off the-

He blinked. It wasn't possible. The man from before was standing back on his feet, as if nothing had happened!

"Kaio-ken... Times Hundred!" he shouted.

"Kaio-what?" Slug's thoughts were cut off guard, as the man's aura exploded in a red glow.

No... That man wasn't alone. It was the Namekian! He was in the man's aura!

"It's you! You're in him!" he voiced his thoughts.

The man roared as he made a maddash for Slug, aiming for his torso before ripping through his body, throwing him backwards onto his ship, the Namekian coughing up blood as did so. With that, the man flew to the sky, with Slug following him in hot-pursuit, refusing to be killed. After a moment, the man threw a blast of energy towards Slug. Not his own energy though, pure life energy, which could kill any being of pure malice such as Lord Slug, himself.

In many timelines, this would be the case, bringing the Namekian's long life to an end. But in this specific timeline, Goku and his allies weren't so lucky. The Divergence in this timeline happened much earlier, however, when Lord Slug first summoned Shenron. In most timelines he summoned the Eternal Dragon, and wished for Eternal Youth, but in this one...

"Why have you summoned me? Tell me your wish."

"Great Dragon... Remove the yoke time has placed upon me, and free me from the shackles strapped to me by age! Grant me Immortality!"

Shenron's eyes glowed, as Lord Slug's flesh began to brim with newfound life, and his old muscles crackled with renewed strength.

"It is done..." Shenron proclaimed, before glowing golden, and dispersing in the form of the Dragon Balls once more.

There. That single change in a wish would spell the difference between life and death for many. These are the previously told events, but in this timeline.

As Goku raced towards the sky, Lord Slug flew right after him, his wounds beginning to heal at an incredible rate.

"Now... You die!" Slug roared, before firing a massive blast from his mouth.

The blast collided with the Spirit Bomb fired by Goku, before overtaking it, alongside Goku, himself. Overwhelmed by it, the Saiyan fell hopelessly back to Earth.

Lord Slug cackled as he slammed back onto the Earth, the shockwaves alone being enough to throw Goku backwards several feet.

"So, now what?" Lord Slug taunted. "Where's your red glow, now? Or what about the yellow glow from before?"

Goku roared with determination, using every ounce of strength left in his body to return to his feet. But after his reckless use of the Kaio-ken, his body was broken, breathing was a challenge enough, as-is.

"No? No to the glow?"

Lord Slug chuckled again, taking massive steps after another, as he walked closer and closer to Goku, each footstep sounding louder and closer each time.

"You like this planet, don't you?" he asked the Saiyan.

Goku didn't respond, as his body began to slowly lose consciousness.

Slug nodded, finally getting close enough to Goku to grab him by his arm, using only his index finger and thumb.

"Then, here! You can have it!"

With that, Lord Slug whipped Goku downwards, slamming him into the Earth. His home.

Miles elsewhere, Kami felt his heart sink. Goku's energy had disappeared. They had no options left. He then thought about Piccolo.

He pondered the thought. If he merged with Piccolo, their combined strength could likely seal Lord Slug away.

...However, if they did merge, the Dragon Balls would no longer exist, making it impossible to undo the damage done, including potentially reviving Goku. Unless... Yes! They could use his ship and travel to Namek! That way they could-

"As for you..." Lord Slug spat, walking over to the now-unconscious Piccolo. "You should've remembered your place..."

Slug chuckled, before raising his boot.

"Under my foot!"

Kami's blood ran cold.

No. His plan. His plan could've worked. It would have...

Falling to his knees he looked down at the planet he had sworn to protect...

Fading away, he choked his final words.

"I'm sorry..."

With everyone who defied him gone, Lord Slug had little problem conquering the rest of the world. Every last Earthling became one of Slug's Subjects, while the rest... were killed.

Lord Slug would search for the Dragon Balls again, but to no avail. However, while subjugating the Humans, he would come across one he recognized. The woman with the Dragon Radar. Given her talent, alongside his newfound need for scientists, he would begin to mold her into one of his many subjects. Bulma was resilient, like many before her, but just like them, she would be broken.

From then on, Lord Slug's Empire would grow, at some point rivaling even Lord Frieza's Empire. Eventually the two would come to blows, but with his immortality and improved strength, Frieza and the rest of his family stood no chance. In the end, Lord Slug's Empire would take over the majority of the universe. His rule was brutal, and like he, would never perish.

A bitter end for the universe, and yet one so narrowly avoided. How a single sentence can spell an entirely different outcome for an entire universe, is both fascinating, but horrifying. That's the most important power of all: our own words. With those, we choose to either create or destroy; perhaps to not this horrifying of a degree, but to a degree nevertheless. I am the Supreme Kai of Time, and these are the Tales of the Xenoverse.
