I got home and threw my keys on the coffee table. Cassidy was rushing around the apartment.
"Jemima, is that you?" she asked.
"No, it's me. A robber. I just have keys to the room and rob houses in the middle of the day." I said sarcastically.
She walked out of her room wearing a black strapless cocktail dress.
"Woah. Valentines day dinner with Matt?" I asked.
"And you, and Ian, and Josh and his girlfriend, and Mike and his girlfriend." she said.
"Crap! I forgot. When are we leaving? Help me get ready." I asked.
"Don't worry we don't have to leave for another hour. Come on lets go find a dress." she said.
We agreed on a white dress that went down to my knees. It had golden sparkles on it. She curled my hair and put a head band that was gold and covered in gems on my head. I finished my make-up just in time.
"Matt just texted me telling me that he is almost here. And Ian is coming over right now." Cassidy said slipping on a high heel.
Ian knocked on the door and I opened it. He was wearing an actual suit.
"Wow." was all he could say when he saw my dress.
"You're pretty wow yourself." I told him.
He smiled and kissed me.
"Come on you guys," Cassidy said pushing between us. "They are down stairs."
We walked down the stairs and we were all surprised to see a limo sitting in the parking lot. At first I thought it was someone else's but, then I saw Matt opening a door for Cassidy.
"How did you afford this?" I asked getting in.
"Only the best for the best girl in the world." Matt said kissing Cassidy said.
"C'mon Matt! Now is not the time to get your girlfriend pregnant." said a familiar voice, making Cassidy blush.
"Hey Josh. Long time no see. And it's Amanda right?" I said.
"Yeah. Oh my god. I love your necklace. Where did you get it?" Amanda asked.
"Ian got it for me for Christmas." I told her.
"Aw Ian, how sweet." she said.
He laughed and wrapped his arm around me. When we arrived Cassidy's craziness died down. We walked in and got our seats. Amanda decided to find a seat right next to me.
"What do you guys want to drink?" asked our waitress, Lily.
I got a sprite, Ian Mike and Matt got a beer, Josh got a coke zero, and Amanda Megan and Cassidy got red wine. Our drinks came somewhat fast.
"Jemima, Josh told me about your parents." Amanda said.
"He did?" I asked.
"Yeah. I am so sorry." she said hugging me.
"Thanks." I said hugging her back.
We had a great dinner but what made me kind of mad was the amount of beer that Ian drank. We got back and Cassidy took Matt into our apartment. I went with Ian to his apartment.
"Ian, how much did you drink tonight?" I asked.
"I don't know a lot. Good thing it doesn't bother you." he said.
"But you don't get it. It does bother me. My parents were killed by a drunk driver! Ever since then I have vowed to never drink. It scares me to be with someone that drinks a lot!" I said.
"But it's okay. I wasn't driving." he said trying to kiss me.
"Actually it's not okay. What if you decided to go driving. What if I lost you too!" I shouted, tears rolling down my cheek.
"Alright fine. I'm sorry." he said.
I didn't want to listen to him any more. "You know what. I'm done. I'm going home." I said leaving.
I walked into the apartment and just went to my room. About an hour later I was changed into my pyjamas and my hair was tied in a ponytail.
"You still upset?" Cassidy asked.
"No. I'm just tired." I said.
"Want some hot chocolate?" she asked.
I got off of my bed and followed Cassidy to the kitchen. Ian was sitting in the chair that he always sat in.
"Hi." he said weakly.
"Hi." I said.
"I'm sorry." he said.
"It's okay. Hows Bubba?" I asked.
"Good. He is here somewhere." he said.
Ian whistled calling Bubba. Bubba came running in.
"This little man needs to get his balls removed soon." Ian said, making Cassidy almost throw up in the sink.
"Ian, this is not table talk." Cassidy said.
"But I'm on the ground." he joked.
Cassidy almost threw a knife at him. I laughed so hard at the people that I am stuck with as friends. I sat on a chair with my legs crossed drinking my hot chocolate.
"I should probably go now." Ian said getting up.
"Okay. Bye." I said kissing him on the cheek.
He left and Cassidy looked at me. "You just forgive him really easily?" she asked.
"Yeah. It was something stupid to get mad about." I told her.
"If it makes you uncomfortable, it's not a stupid reason." she told me walking into her room.
What? What did she mean by that?
