It has been a few days after the first-years' introduction and it was during the third round of the Spring Tokyo Metropolitan Tournament where Seido was playing against Eigen High. Emi watched the game intently as she watched Haruichi go against Eigen's pitcher as Kuramochi got ready to run to the next base.
"Haruichi-kun is getting better with his batting," Emi commented as Kuramochi was able to reach home. "Must be his new training menu."
"He has been training hard," Haruno agreed, amazed.
"Ahhhh! Miyuki-kun~!" Some fangirls shouted at Miyuki, who stood on the batter box, and was able to hit a homer to the back screen.
"Cap has also been doing great," Emi smirked, proud of her boyfriend, ignoring his fangirls.
"He had been inconsistent before becoming a captain, huh? Now look at him go." Yui said.
"Yeah," Emi smiled.
"I guess it is because now he has this girl he wants to impress," Yui teased the younger manager who gave the third year a smirk.
"Of course he would, have you seen how good I look?" Emi played along before her smile softened, looking at Miyuki who was returning to the bench after his beautiful homerun, "The others might not notice this, but he has been practicing his batting every night. There is no way he wouldn't have gone this far without his batting practice." She said honestly.
"Emi-chan you are completely smitten by him," Haruno giggled.
"Shut up," Emi blushed.
In the fifth inning, Kawakami, who was the starting pitcher for the game, pitched his sinkers, allowing Seido to have three outs.
"Nice pitch," Miyuki complimented the boy, "the course was good too."
"You mean it?" Kawakami wondered if Miyuki was being sincere.
"Look at the stands," Miyuki told the pitcher.
Kawakami looked at the stands and found everyone cheering for the pitcher. He saw Watanabe and Emi giving him a thumbs up and big smiles making the pitcher smile brightly.
"I've been complimenting you too, you know?" Miyuki sweatdropped as he walked towards the dugout.
"HYAHAHA! He just knows your heart's not in it," Kuramochi teased the catcher.
Kawakami was eventually switched out later on in the game with Sawamura, disappointing Furuya's fans.
"Huh?" A girl asked incredulously.
"Who was that? Sawamu...ra?" A girl questioned.
"Oh, the guys who screwed up at Koshien Stadium?" The first girl mocked.
"He really fell flat on his face," the second girl laughed.
"When is Furuya-kun gonna pitch?" one of them whined.
"Yeah! What the hell."
"I'm sick of waiting."
"These little..." Emi said darkly, ready to fight them, "how dare you say that about Sawamura..."
"Emi-chan!" Haruno exclaimed while Watanabe, who was closest to the girl, reached out to grab Emi's waist and stop her from attacking the two girls who were looking down at the southpaw.
"Let's calm down, Emi-chan," Watanabe tried to calm the girl. But the girl just kept showing her dark aura.
The girls who were complaining about how Furuya wasn't playing suddenly felt cold. They looked up and saw how Emi looked at them with an icy glare. The look that Emi gave was so scary that the girls all gulped and turned their attention to their phone to avoid the manager's eyes.
