The game against Kasuga First was memorable. Sawamura played five innings, not giving up any runs as Miyuki mixed some pitching numbers. Seido battery also did their best scoring against Kasuga First.

In the sixth inning, Furuya came up the mound and pitched aggressively against the opponent. Emi pursed her lips as she noticed how Furuya was still tense with his pitches despite doing so well. He has changed ever since the game against Komadai... Emi thought to herself in worry.

In the end, Masashi, on his debut, was able to hit a homerun at the end of the game, leading Seido to their victory. With that win, Seido was able to advance to the spring tournament semifinals.

That night, Emi finished cleaning the cafeteria with the help of both Asada and Okumura. As they were leaving, Sawamura opened that door and met face to face with Okumura.

"What do you want?" Okumura asked.

"Hey, Koshuu," Seto scolded his best friend.

"Woah, he still maintains his formalities," Emi said, amazed.

"Did you eat rice?!" Sawamura asked, irritated.

"Yes, I did," Okumura answered.

"Three whole bowls?" Sawamura attempted again.

"Yes, three bowls."

"Super extra helpings?" Sawamura asked.

"Sawamura, stop it," Emi scolded her friend, "let Okumura-kun be!"

"HAHAHAHA!" Sawamura laughed out loud, "You can't call it extra helpings if they're normal extra helpings! You wimp!"

"Be quiet." Okumura said calmly.

Asada and Seto looked at the situation awkwardly while Emi let out a sigh as if she was saying 'I give up on this kid'.

"Let's go, Sawamura-senpai," Asada called his roommate trying to avoid conflict despite having Emi there this time to stop the catcher and the pitcher. "Did you need something here?"

"I forget!" Sawamura said, frustrated.

"Come on, Okumura-kun, Seto-kun," Emi called waving at the boys.

"Sawamura-senpai really got a thing for extra rice," Seto said, relaxing a little, "What's up with him? I never thought about shaping rice as a dome or like Mt. Fuji."

"Sawamura is just an airhead, you'll get used to it," Emi said, "by the way, Okumura-kun, why did you insult him the last time?"

Seto gasped, wary of his senpai. He remembered how protective Emi was to Sawamura when someone insulted him. The boy observed the older girl and saw no signs of coldness nor did she seem angry, just curious.

"No reason," Okumura answered honestly, "it looked like he had something to say."

"Looked like?" Both Seto and Emi asked, confused at the same time.

"Honestly, I am disappointed," Okumura said, "I hate guys who talk in platitudes, like they are in charge."

"But, I don't know about platitudes, he just has... his convictions, I guess?" Seto tried to explain.

"Okumura-kun," Emi called now a little more serious, "I can't know or imagine what you have been through with your past coach, but not everyone is like him."

The two first years looked at the girl in shock not imagining that she knew the rumors about their school. Emi looked at them and gave them a kind smile.
