"𝕬h, Miss Baker." Celeste smiled up at Professor Slughorn from her seat beside Walburga. "Now, Miss Black does need to learn to work on her own without you, so we shall have to do some rearranging of seats I think."

Walburga scowled at being called out. Potions was not her best subject and having Celeste sitting beside her meant that she found it a little easier, what with this being one of Celeste's favourite subjects. Now, Slughorn was ruining their plans for both of them to get high marks.

"Now, let me see. Mr. Prewett, would you be so kind as to sit with Miss Black. Mr Malfoy, please move to sit beside Miss Strange and Miss Baker, it seems like a space with Mr Riddle has opened up."

"How fortuitous." Celeste muttered darkly, before plastering a fake smile onto her face and picking up her satchel. She moved over to the front of the class, sinking down into the seat beside Tom Riddle slowly.

"Miss Baker."

"Mr Riddle." Celeste bowed her head to the man, pulling her notepad and textbook down.

"Today, class, we shall be discussing the brewing and the potential of Amortentia, or the love potion. I will also be asking you, in your pairs, to discuss ways to change the potion to either make it more potent or to perhaps, differ the effects of it." Slughorn explained as Celeste leant forward, listening in. She had always found Amortentia interesting. It was a potion that mimicked the effects of love, mimicked how it would feel for others and trick their brain into believing that they were in love. It was incredibly dangerous but studying it was something that her mother had adored, and Celeste would find equally as interesting.

She noticed, having felt him, that Riddle tensed upon mention of the potion, her eyes flicking across to the man. He was sitting, back straight, a slight frown plastered on his face as Celeste rolled her eyes.

"Who can tell me what Amortentia is? Miss Baker?"

"Of course, sir. Amortentia is what some may call a love potion, despite the fact that it does not cause someone to fall in love with another, it just mimics the emotions and the chemicals that it will produce inside someone. A true love potion would make the drinker fall in love completely and wholly even when not taking the potion, but Amortentia users find that they fall out of love the moment that they stop drinking it." Celeste drawled, flipping her quill over her fingers. "It's a complicated potion, one studied by the ministry due to its dangerous nature, and obsessive-like symptoms. It is said to smell like the person you either love or will love, depending on what sources you study and who's word you take."

"An excellent description, Miss Baker!" Slughorn prompted a round of applause for the woman, who smiled. "Ten points to Slytherin."

"Thank you, sir."
