Me: I know. Two updates in one day. I'm amazing.
Randomly appearing person: but this isn't the same day as the last update.
Me: Yeah, but it's within 24 hours so it's the same day.
Person: Sure, but-
Me: No.
Me: I'm here to talk about Canada's oldest city, the coolest city on the St Lawrence River, the place where I've spent the last 5 days, Quebec City! Quebec City is a fun place. I seriously loved going there, and here are some fun facts about it.
1. It was founded in 1608.
2. It was founded by Samuel de Champlain (or Sammy Champ, as I've decided to name him).
3. It started out as a French colony, then it was taken over by the British, and finally reclaimed by the French.
4. French is 80% of the population's first language.
5. The Citadel is not only a military base, but also contains a museum, a tank, a disused prison cell, and a goat the looks like a boy in my class.
6. There are cannons everywhere.
7. There's a building in the centre of the city that has 31 floors, takes 28 seconds to get from the ground floor to the top, and allows you to see most of the city.
8. The aquarium has 2 polar bears, 3 walruses, about 10 seals, and a buttload of fish. You can also touch stingrays (which feel like hard jello), starfish (which are rough and squishy), some weird pointy things without heads (which feel like extra squishy jello), and sea urchins (which aren't actually stabby. More pokey).
9. Their poutine is about 1000% better than Winnipeg's.
10. Can you guess how many lakes are in the entire province? OVER 9000!!!! (Actually it's over a million.)
