"Is it alright if I sit here?" I asked Natalie later day at the Pack house. Everyone was gone to the beach for the day, setting up the bonfire.

"I don't care," she sighed.

"I didn't want anyone to be worried or upset. I just wanted my alone time...you know...alone."

"You can't just stop speaking to us all of a sudden-" she looked at me and she froze.

"Nat?"

"What's wrong with your eyes? Why are they purple?"

"I think I'm special Nat. I'm a very special person...a-and I think that's what's happening with me, I'm changing."

"Into what?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "beats me."

"You need to see a doctor."

"I'm perfectly alright-"

"Stop saying that! Something is wrong with you and you need help! Something is terribly wrong with my best friend and if there's a chance I might lose her when we could have prevented it I will never live myself! Go see a doctor!"

I laughed in her face, "no I'm fine."

"You're unbelievable. Don't come to me if you drop dead."

"I wouldn't be able to because I would be dead."

She left.

We all made our way over to the beach. It was around 7 when everyone showed up and started drinking. It was around 8 when Spencer showed up I think, everyone was tipsy and the parents were leaving for the night. Spencer said his hellos to the adults, but as soon as they were gone, it was like a whole different party. Everyone started dancing, drinking heavier and making out with someone. Girl on girl, guy on girl, guy on guy, but no one really care, it was a 'grab a partner and drink until liver failure' party. I used to be the center of those parties.

Spencer found his sister and hugged her. He missed his little sister and you could tell she missed him too. It's been a couple of years but he's official back for good. Tears stain her eyes and his shirt. He smiled tenderly and gave her back to her boyfriend.

I sat on a log quietly. I haven't eaten or drank anything today and my stomach wasn't acting up. Spencer grabbed a beer before grabbing some whiskey. I never could do hard liquor or beer. I sat up straight when he locked eyes.

"Danielle," He smirked, his baby face gone and replaced with this man. A man with stubble. A man with height and muscle. A man 6 years older than the last boy I saw. Spencer: a certified, trained Beta. The next Beta for the pack, serving with my mate and I. Spencer changed and it took a lot to realized that. His hair grew out and he pulled it up into spikes. He's lean body was now muscular and strong. His awkward boyish physique was gone and replace with this husky tone Alpha male. Someone I wasn't expecting.

Someone cranked up the volume of the music and everyone stood up and grind on each other, but you could barely tell who was with who, a little longer and this might turn into an orgy, but I knew some guys will be lucky and take two girls home with them.

"Hey Spence,"

"What's wrong?" He leaned back.

"Nothing. I'm just about to head back."

"Why?"

"Tired."

"Liar." His deep, warm chuckled scared me slightly.

"Not today."

His jaw clenched. "Something's bugging you?"

"No. I'm fine."
