Bose's POV:
Today was my favorite holiday ever: Valentine's day. The one day where people can express their true love to and for one another. Better than that, school was having a special Valentine's day party in every class.
When I got to school, it was basically covered in red, pink and white. Everywhere you look, there are a bunch of decorations, and I was very fascinated by how creative the school got.
Mika's POV:
Today was Valentine's day, the best holiday ever. I love it because it's a day where people can express their love for others, and I think that's really important. School was having a special Valentine's day party, and the whole school was covered in decorations. Props to the people who were able to get it all set up in time.
When I walked into the classroom, there were people with bags full of candy and other Valentine's stuff. I, too, had a bag of sweets, and I knew who I wanted to give it to: Bose.
I've always wanted to be able to do it like this. I've actually been waiting for a while to show him how I really feel, and I hope he feels the same way.
Today was a day free of actual schoolwork, and I'll admit: I'm glad. Even I need a break from school once in a while.
When I went to sit at my desk, Miles was already sitting at his, seemingly ready to give his gift to someone. Once he noticed me, we started a conversation.
Miles: "Pretty crazy today, huh?"
Me: "Yeah, it's just like how it was in Elementary school, which is crazy because I thought they stopped doing this stuff once you get to middle school."
Miles: "I think they should keep this going for every grade, including college years."
Me: "That's a good idea; people deserve a little extra time off from actual school."
Bose's POV:
I walk into the classroom, and there were people talking to one another, and each of them had their own gift bags ready to be given to others. I had mine with me, and you won't believe who it was for: Mika.
That's right, it's for Mika. I've always wanted to be able to do this, but never worked up the courage to do so. But that's all going to change today.
I see Mika and Miles having a conversation, so I go over there to join them.
Me: "Hey, you two."
Mika and Miles: "Hey, Bose!"
Me: "Pretty crazy class today."
Miles: "Exactly, everyone's excited today."
Mika: "I wonder why Chapa's not here today."
Miles: "I heard that she was sick."
Me: "Oof, being sick is the worst."
Mika: "Right?"
Mika's POV:
I forgot to mention this earlier, but at the front of the class, there were a few tables full of food, mostly Valentine's-related stuff. Others were basically soda, chips, anything you'd expect to find at a party.
I was getting more and more eager to give my bag of candy to Bose, and I could kind of tell he was feeling the same way. Then, the teacher walked in.
Teacher: "Hello, everybody, and welcome to our annual Valentine's day party!"
Everyone, including us, cheered.
Teacher: "Now, as for us teachers, we will be in the auditorium, having our own party. So, we trust that all of you won't go completely crazy. Thank you so much, and enjoy your party!"
We all cheer again and the teacher leaves the classroom. Then, the party actually started. Everyone got up and went to the front of the classroom to grab a plate-full of the stuff up front.
Bose and I stood in the back, waiting for everyone to clear out of the way. As a matter of fact, we stepped out of the classroom, holding our gift bags.
Me: "It got crazy in there real fast, didn't it?"
Bose: "Sure did, it's nice to be out here where we can hear ourselves."
Me: *giggles* "Yeah, that's true."
There was a pause for a moment, and the conversation started back up again.
Bose: "So, here's the thing: I've been wanting to do this for a while, but couldn't find the right time to do so, and I figured that today would be the best time to."
Bose hands me his gift bag.
Bose: "Happy Valentine's day."
I smile as I open it up, and one of the first things I see is a card. I take the card out, open it up, and it reads...
Happy Valentine's day!!!
-Love, your secret lover
Me: "Aww, Bose, this is so sweet."
Bose: "Thank you, I'm glad you like it."
I then hand my gift bag to him.
Me: "Happy Valentine's day to you, too."
Bose opens up the bag, and he sees a small stuffed bear as one of the first items. He takes it out, and the smile on his face says it all.
Bose: "Aww, you remembered that I've always loved this kind of bear."
Me: "I'm happy I was able to get it for you."
We both set our bags down and try to figure out what to do next. I'm pretty sure we figured it out at the same time, because almost immediately, we hugged each other.
It felt so good to be in Bose's warm embrace, and I knew for a fact that I felt safe. We kept the hug going for about 10 seconds, and we let go.
Me: "Well, I think we should head back inside and join the party."
Bose: "Good idea, let's just hope all the food hasn't been taken yet."
Me: "Right? That would not be good for everyone else."
Bose and I grab our gift bags, and we head back inside the classroom.
