The bell rang, and students began to pile out of their classes, some for their last time. Mella had finally finished her junior year. She walked down the halls of her school, a soft expression on her face.

She managed to survive such a hell-ish year, and she was proud of herself for once. A few classmates said their farewells to Mella, and that's when she remembered a specific detail. She paused as she reached her locker. Looking around, she saw groups of friends saying their teary goodbyes for the year, making promises to hang out, and laughing together.

It reminded her of something.

Throughout the school years, she never once made any friends. Sure, she got along with her classmates, but they were simply acquaintances of hers. She didn't hang out with anyone. She didn't have sleepovers or go to parties. She was alone. Her smile fell as she realized the saddening truth.

She looked down as she gripped her backpack strap. Now that junior year was over, Bethany would be taking her out of school so she could learn about her job early. She wouldn't get any other chance to make friends. This was her last year.

As she began to step towards the road, a voice called out to her. At first, she paid no mind, believing the voice was probably calling a friend, however that theory was proven wrong when they called her name.

When she turned, she could hear a pair of footsteps heading towards her, and she was suddenly met with a black-haired boy she recognized from her history class. She thought back as she tried to remember his name. After a bit, the memory clicked: his name was Henry!

Henry was a decent guy, somewhat of a class clown. He didn't have the best reputation with the teacher for his pranks. She found his antics funny, though. Out of all her classmates, he was probably her favorite.

"Hey! I know we don't know each other too well, but I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out with me and a few friends of mine? We were gonna go out and watch that new movie that came out this week, and we have an extra ticket since one of our friends had to cancel for family. I didn't exactly know who else to ask, and you seem pretty cool, so what do you say?"

Mella looked away, pondering whether or not she should agree. It was kinda weird that they didn't just ask another friend, or just save it or something, but maybe they really just didn't want the ticket to go to waste? She didn't have anything to do anyways, and she knew that her sister had always wanted her to be more social.

However, something in her gut was telling her to say no. She didn't know why, but there was a strange feeling, however she didn't think anything of it. So, ignoring that gut feeling, she looked back at Henry and smiled. "Sure! I don't have anything else to do, so why not?"

"Great! Let's get going!" He gently grabbed her hand and headed towards his group of friends, who all looked confused at first, but once they got the explanation, they didn't seem to mind Mella coming along with them. She felt happy. She wouldn't feel alone anymore.

She later learned everyone's names: Michael, Michelle, Darian, and José. Michael and Michelle were twins who enjoyed teasing everyone, Darian was a book-loving geek, and José was the 'bodyguard' of them all. Mella was instantly adored by Michael and Michelle, their reason being "we all have M names!" José was cautious at first, however after just a few minutes of being around him, he already began acting like an older brother to her. Darian wasn't exactly sure about her, though. He needed a bit of convincing, and eventually he reluctantly agreed to her going with them.
