Mella had woken up after a well-needed nap. Toriel had already explained to her the surprise, but had quickly left to the kitchen. Mella sat up on the edge of the bed, noticing a warm slice of pie placed on the floor. She picked it up, and then it suddenly vanished. She was shocked, but then thought nothing of it. She left the room, walking down the hallway. She stopped, staring at the stairs to her right. Suddenly, memories flashed in her mind. She had to leave. What if something happened to Toriel because she stayed with her? She was scared. She didn't want to get Toriel hurt.
Toriel was sitting in the living room, a book in her large paws(hands?). She looked up and noticed Mella. "Oh! I see you're awake!" Mella looked down, trembling a bit. "Ms. Toriel..?" Toriel frowned slightly. "Yes, my child?" Mella took in a deep breath, then asked, "How do I leave the Ruins?"
Toriel closed her book, the sound echoing through the now silent house. "My child, why do you wish to leave?" Mella began to shake, which led to Toriel thinking she was scared of her. "I will not harm you, my child. There is no need to be afra-"
"I have to leave! If I stay, something might happen and I need to leave before something does!" Toriel stared at Mella in shock. She then brought her into a tight hug. "My poor child...what did you go through on the Surface..?" Mella's eyes widened before she began to tear up. She let out a wail of grief, tears flowing down her face. Toriel gently patted Mella's back.
"Shh..It's okay, my child. If you truly wish to leave, then I will allow you to. But please, don't ever come back..." Mella looked at Toriel and nodded hesitantly, wiping her eyes. Toriel saw her as a young child in need of help, but if she wanted to help her, she needed her to feel comfortable.
She didn't want her to blame herself if something actually happened, so the only thing she could do was let her go. She watched as Mella fled down the stairs. She sighed and went back to her book, small tears forming in the corners of her eyes. If only she was able to do more for her.

Mella quickly ran through the hallway, tears still streaming down her face. Toriel reminded her of her mother, before everything went wrong. She wanted to stay with her. She didn't have anyone else to go to. But, she was scared. She didn't want to see anyone else die. She was not going through that again.
She knew Henry didn't know where she was, but she couldn't help but be scared that he'll find her. She didn't want to go back. She couldn't go back. She wouldn't be able to get rid of him. She didn't have po-
Mella froze at the large doors, the exit. She did have powers. She's always had them, but she was never taught how to control them. She trembled, scared of what she could possibly do. She only knew how to create wings. She knew she was some sort of monster/human hybrid, but she didn't remember what. Her father never told her.
She shook her head, getting rid of her previous thoughts. She had to leave. She pushed the doors open, and was met with total darkness. She stepped forward, once again finding that talking flower named Flowey.
"Clever." He spoke with a smug grin on his face. "Veeeeery Clever. In this world, it's Kill or Be Killed. So you were able to play by your own rules. You spared the life of a single person. Hee hee hee.. I bet you feel really great. You-" He was cut off by Mella running past him. "HEY!" Mella went through the doorway in front of her, blinking and being met with blinding white snow. "What..?"
Meanwhile, a smiling skeleton was making his way towards the RUINS doors. He heard a female voice, and he quickly moved behind a tree. He stared in shock at the human standing in front of those purple doors. Who was she? Something felt off about this. For some reason, he felt he was expecting someone else to walk through those doors. "what is going on..? The whole past few days had felt off, as if something was wrong. Sans quietly talked to himself, not noticing the human already walking. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a thump. He turned his head to see that the human tripped over the branch. He chuckled quietly and waited a bit before breaking the branch with magic, just to startle the human.

Mella turned around quickly, startled by the snap the branch had made. Who broke it so easily? Is a monster nearby? Was she in danger? She backed up before turning back around and running to the strange bridge. She stopped, afraid it could be a trap.
She heard footsteps behind her. She was frozen, yet she desperately wanted to escape. "H U M A N. . ." Mella suddenly turned around and backed up, tripping over a loose plank from the bridge. The monster quickly grabbed onto Mella's arm, a whoopee cushion falling out of their hand.
"woah! careful there, human. don't wanna fall down there, now do ya?" The monster revealed himself to be a skeleton. He was smiling, but it looked like it was permanent. Mella stood up, staring at the skeleton.
"i guess i lost my whoopee cushion, heh. oh well, didn't need to prank you anyways. so, are you a human?" Mella couldn't even open her mouth to answer. "hilarious. anyways, the name's sans, sans the skeleton. i'm actually on watch for humans right now-" This startled Mella. Sans continued, seemingly noticing how she had looked slightly frightened. "but, y'know, i don't really care about capturing anyone."
He was about to say more, but he was interrupted by another voice, this one being VERY loud. Mella turned around as Sans quickly guided her over the bridge. "hey, why don't you go hide behind that station? i don't think you can hide behind the lamp." Mella nodded and quickly ran to the sentry station, ducking underneath it. She could hear footsteps, the snow loudly crunching after each one. She then heard that loud voice again. "SANS!"
