---Adelaide's POV---

I waved goodbye to the boys as they walked off for practice. I turned back to see Paul waiting for me by his car. He smiled at me and nodded asking if I was ready.

"What's at this shop Miss Adelaide?" He asked me, opening the door to the black Range Rover so that I could slip in.

"Just something I want to use for my performance." He nodded and we drove off to the store.

A few fans spotted us and waved at us. There also was some fans that ran up to me, trying to snatch off the scarf I had wrapped around my neck. Paul got upset at that. I told him it was ok, and gave the girl my scarf. She began crying. What the heck? I didn't think I'd have that kind of affect on the fans.

We walked into this little shop called Tune Up. It was a small music shop. I smiled at the elderly man behind the counter. Paul looked around and looked right at me, confused. I smiled and nodded. Walking around the shop, I looked at all the different records and instruments. Admiring all the detail the owner had put in the displays. Once I was back at the front, I saw what first caught my eye when we first drove into the city. On the window display, stood a beautiful acoustic guitar. I walked towards it, running my fingers along the wood.

When I was young, my grandpa taught me how to play. On summer days, when my parents went to work, me and Matty would stay over at my grandparents house. We'd sit on the porch swing and he'd teach me some chords on the guitar. When he passed away, I didn't really play much. It never really felt the same without him by my side.  He always used to tell me I'd be famous. I'd always laugh and tell him not in a million years... Look at me now. I smiled to myself.

"You play?" Paul asked me, removing me from my thoughts.

"I used to, My grandpa taught me when I was younger." I explained to him.

"May I help you ma'am?" The man behind the counter smiled.

"Yes, I'd like to buy this guitar, I perform in two days and would Like to use it for the concert."

"Concert?" He asked.

"Yes sir," I slowly nodded, "I am the opening act for One Direction... the boyband. Well two days from now, my last performance is with them and I wanted to do something special." Paul looked at me confusingly. He didn't know about my offer.

"Why is it your last?" the elderly man asked.

"Well you see sir, I have been signed to do a record deal. So I can't perform with the boys anymore, because I'll be doing my own music" Paul smiled.

"That's a big deal missy, congratulations" the owner said. I thanked him and asked him how much the guitar was.

"No charge, Just remember when you hit it big that I was the old man who gave you your guitar" he chuckled.

"Thank you sir!" I smiled and hugged him.

"you're very welcome miss..?"

"Adelaide Thomson" he nodded and went to the back and brought out a case for the guitar. It was covered in black leather. The smell filled the room. He handed it to me and told me it was also a gift.

"Thank you sir" I whispered... still in disbelief. He nodded and went back to work. We waved goodbye to him and were on our way.

As we were driving, me and Paul talked about the offer Simon had given me. He was very supportive. I knew he'd miss me as much as I'd miss him, but he knew that this was my dream.

"Do the boys know you play?" he pointed to the guitar that was protected in the leather case. I shook my head.

"No, I kind of want it to be a surprise." he smiled. "Hopefully nobody tweets about it" I said looking out of the window. The rest of the drive was just chit chat.

When we got back to the tour bus, the driver told us that we'd be staying at a hotel, since we were going to be in Florida for two days. Paul said he'd drive me to the hotel and that the boys could be driven to the hotel by the bus driver. I agreed. I grabbed my bags and my new guitar.

Word must have gotten around that we were staying at this hotel. Hundreds of girls were at the front of the lobby doors screaming and cheering. Paul suggested we entered through theback. I nodded. We managed to enter the hotel without anybody seeing us. We checked in and went to the fourth floor where our rooms were to be. I was walking towards my door when I heard a girl scream.

"OMG Adelaide! I'm your biggest fan!" She was taking pics with her camera phone. Shit, she took pics of me with my guitar. I didn't want anybody to know about my guitar yet, I wanted it to be a surprise.

"Ummm sweety? could you not post that pic please? This is supposed to be a surprise" I said lifting the case. She frowned. She must have been planning to post them. "How about this, I take some pics with you, and give you an autograph... AND  follow you on twitter if you delete the pic of me with the guitar... please? this is important to me?" She began bouncing up and down.

"A follow?!?!" I nodded, I took out my phone and typed her username that she told me. I clicked the follow button and she showed me that she was deleting the photo. We took some pics together and chit chatted outside of my door.

"Caroline, we're leaving." a lady ordered, must have been her mother.

"Goodbye Caroline, tweet me sometime?" her mouth dropped. I guess she was surprised I was asking her tweet me. She nodded, gave me a hug, and waved goodbye. Paul was still standing a few yards away. I looked up at him and smiled as he let out a yawn.

"I'm gonna practice in my room Paul. I'll be ok. Go rest"

"Ok Miss Adelaide, lock your door and I'll have my phone on loud if you need anything." I nodded and he walked into his room.  I walked into my room and locked the door. I took a quick shower and dried my hair. I changed into a large navy sweatshirt andsome baggy dark grey sweats. When I was done, I walked towards the guitar case that was on my bed. Opening it, I could smell the polish from the wood. I closed my eyes, remembering all the memories about my grandpa. I touched the strings with my finger tips. Plucking a chord, the sound echoed in the room. I lifted up the instrument and sat on the floor, my back against the bed.

Turning on my laptop, it brought me back to the last document I was on. Leaning my head back, I began practicing.
