Narrated Abu Huraira ( رضي الله عنه )
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
" Whoever does not give up false statements (i.e telling lies) and evil deeds and speaking bad words to others, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink."
-Sahih Bukhari.
A fasting person should pay close attention to his speech.
One should be very careful of backbiting, badmouthing, speaking harsh words to others etc.
Indeed, Ramadan is not just a month of abstaining from food and drink but rather, It is a month of discipline and purification of mind, body and soul.
