Once the preparations for breakfast were complete all the children living inside the orphanage were called to the dining room.
Roughly 25 children were gathered seated around various tables that were place inside the room.
Many of the children chose to sit together as they had lively conversation amongst themselves.
Meanwhile Kenta took a seat around an empty table he had no intention of joining those children who were close to his age. He just watches them with a blank expression on his face.
"Hey! Kenta!" however while he was watching them, he heard a familiar voice calling him. He instinctively turned his head to the voice's owner. And saw the figure of Ellen and two other girls following behind her.
"Do you mind if we sit, here?" she asks while showing a bright smile on her face. Kenta simply shook his head allowing her to sit.
Seeing that Ellen promptly seated herself beside him the other girls also followed her lead and seated themselves.
The two girls stared at Kenta's face curiously, they had heard that a new orphan had arrive last night, but this is the first time their meeting him in person.
Since arriving here Kenta had stayed inside his room the whole time refusing to meet with anyone, so this is also his first-time meeting with the other orphans as well.
"Oh, allow me to introduce you." Ellen said reading the atmosphere drifting between them.
"This is Kenta he is 11 years old; he's going to be joining us starting today." she said taking the initiative to introduce Kenta, hearing that the other girls also started their own introduction.
"I see, I'm Charlotte. I'm happy to meet you." a girl with pink haired that was styled in a bob cut said.
Kenta looked at Charlotte while nodding his head, judging by her appearance she seems to be about his age, but he decided not to ask any question deeming it as unnecessary.
The girl sitting on the right also introduce herself shortly after. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Nessa." she said lowering her head politely. Now everyone had introduced themselves the curiosity between them seems to have died down a bit.
They continued talking amongst themselves for a while Kenta could only curtly answer most of their questions, he answered without showing any emotion in his expression or voice, but even so there was a friendly atmosphere between them.
While Kenta had enjoyed talking to people close to his own age, he made sure not to get too close to these people, so he kept a distance between them and himself. Before long a waiter came and brought over their breakfast.
Everyone did a small prayer before eating their meals, the sound of spoon and fork could be heard resounding the dining hall.
Kenta enjoyed his meals as he eats with a somewhat happy expression, he hadn't eaten anything since he had lost his parents so right now, he was like a pack of hungry wolves devouring its prey.
Before long everyone had finish their meals and was now enjoying a glass of sweet apple juice. Kenta finish his meal and immediately left the room. Soon after many other kids also left the room and headed outside in order to play.
Swoosh~
A sound could be heard cutting through the air, the thing that made the sound was a 3-meter wooden sword Kenta had started practicing his sword training his goal was to get strong he couldn't waste a single moment, so he continued to train not only his mind but also his body. Strangely enough it felt completely natural for him to be swinging around a sword.
He remembered seeing his father swinging around his sword whenever he had time. His swing was sharp and elegant, but Kenta knew he could be just as strong with enough practice.
He wanted to be strong Kenta frowned remembering the look on his parents faces while he was powerless to do anything.
"Tch." he clicks his tongue he felt irritated by his own powerlessness."If only I had." If only he had power back, then is what he wanted to say but... even so would he even be able to do anything even then? He wondered no matter how many times he curst, no matter how many times he tried to vent his frustrations his hatred wouldn't go away.
Swoosh~
So, he swung his sword instead. While his movements were sharp his physical abilities were only that of an 11-year-old boy, so it didn't have that much power in them.
He continued swinging his sword while thinking of ways to improve himself, he was so focus on his own training that he didn't notice he was being watch. While standing beside a tree Ellen watch Kenta swinging his sword around with a serious expression on his face.
'Is there a reason he's training so hard?' she wondered while staring at the Kenta who was so engrossed into his training that he didn't notice her appearance.
She wanted them to spend some more time together since they were free but, she then turned her head to watch the other kids who were playing with happy smiles on their faces, and then looked at the expression on Kenta's face before making a gloomy face herself.
'Why does he always seems so sad?' she wondered it was something that bothered her since she saw him last night.
Despite his toneless face he always had a faint trace of sadness in his eyes, it was definitely the face of someone who was crying for help. It is because of that why she is trying so hard to become friends with him but.
"He seems to be keeping me at a distance." she muttered sadly while holding down her head as a gloomy light shined through her pupil.
"Lady Ellen?" she then turned her head when hearing her name being called. "Oh, uh... did I interrupted you?" she asked in a slightly panic voice.
"No, you didn't I was just about to take a break when I notice you." he said showing a wry smile.
Hearing that she sighed as though expelling her worries. Her silver hair flowed down her back once she had taken a seat on a rock beside the tree. Seeing that Kenta also taken a seat beside her.
The air was cool as they both seated themselves underneath the tree with the shade blocking out the sunlight protecting them from the sun rays.
They both stared at the other children playing for a while as the rustling of the leaves could be heard.
"Hey um Kenta if you don't mind me asking do you have any plans for what you're going to do once you leave here?" she suddenly asks staring at Kenta's face.
