ROOOAR!

Lightning flickered wildly in the cloudy skies as the sound of roaring thunder pierced through the eardrums of those outside.

Many civilians ran to take shelter as they feared lightning bolts would rain down on them.

"What is this?" a patrolling guard said while gazing at the sky, it was not that long ago they were standing beneath the warm blue sky so, the sudden change left them quite bewildered.

"Do you think someone used some kind of magic to manipulate the weather?" another guard in his teens asked also gazing up at the sky. Even though it wasn't well known there were some spells that had the ability to manipulate the weather.

Though most of those spells were considered lost spells in this era, most people wouldn't even consider that as a possibility.

"I don't know but, I doubt someone could have enough magic power to cause this kind of spell."

ROOOOAR!

The sky continued to rage loudly as bolts of lightning fell from the sky.

BOOOM!!!

Large craters were left behind wherever they fell as the cries of civilians came from here and there. Most civilians had already evacuated inside their homes while some were seeking shelter inside various buildings.

On top of a balcony that easily overlooks the entire city below a man with neatly trimmed blonde hair who seems to be in his middle age wearing a rather extravagant looking suit was gazing up at the cloudy sky.

"Hmmm... these clouds aren't natural. There is something rather ominous about them." the blonde-haired man said.

He had never seen nor heard of purple lightning before. But the sky was flickering violently with violet lightning that would drop thunder bolts randomly. It's almost like the "Wrath of heaven."

"I considered the possibility of someone using spells but, is there even a spell that could cause a large phenomenon like this?" a black-haired woman wearing maid clothing who was standing behind the blonde-haired man said.

"Yes, to create such a powerful phenomenon would take a large quantity of magic power. I doubt a single entity could cause something of this scale." the blonde-haired man brought his hand under his chin as he muttered. Dark clouds filled the entire sky as far as the eyes could see.

Inside an empty dark space, a beautiful majestic broad sword was hovering soundlessly in midair.

The red hilt of the sword had various markings on the side, suddenly the markings glowed violet in color.

The violet color spread from the hilt and traveled towards the blade that was as black as darkness itself.

Soon the entire blade had violet color tracing the sword from the hilt to the blade and then, the strange symbols on the hilt shone brightly.

In another place located in the southern parts of the world in a desolate field there was an old ruin that seemed as though no one had visited that place in centuries. The stone walls had old writing carved on the walls though.

Some were covered with dirt and sand, so it was impossible to tell what they were implying. However, strangely enough there were symbols carved on the walls that resembles the one on the broad sword.

The writing glowed in a violet color before the sound of a "Click" sounded from the entrance. Though, no one was around to notice that.

Back inside the training ground Kenta had his hand held out. The magic formation appeared for a few seconds before it eventually disappeared.

However, a frown was formed on Kenta's face as he stared at his outstretch hand utterly confused.

'Why didn't it work? Thunderclap was supposed to be a projectile spell, wasn't it?' His mind was completely blank as he tried to comprehend why his spell didn't work.
