Corrupted soul

Plan in motion!

Inside an overgrowth forest on the outskirts of the city of Zaril a vast forest of greenery was spread across in abundance as various mountain could be seen in the far distant.

Roar!

Many cries of various monsters sounded followed by the trembling of the earth! Among the many trees a giant ape like beast jumped out swooping downwards while punching forward with its muscular arms!

Swoosh!

"Tch!"

The arm of the ape like beast made direct contact with the blade of Kenta's sword forcing him to take a step backwards. However, before the ape like beast could attack him again Kenta closed in on the beast swinging his sword diagonally sideways!

"!!"

As though sensing the danger to its life the ape like beast used both its hands to block the slash coming towards it, seeing this Kenta raised an eyebrow in surprise.

He put more strength into his arms as he slashes forwards vigorously! But the ape like beast moved with impressive agility, evading all of his slashes effortlessly!

"Tsk, this thing is really annoying." Kenta muttered bitterly to himself. Even someone as inexperienced as him could tell he was being toyed with.

Roar!

The ape like beast let out a roar that shook the trees in the forest as it swung its large arm towards Kenta's head. However, on pure instinct he raised his hand upwards, blocking the attack!

"Tch." A small grunt left Kenta's lips as the arm of the ape like beast collided with the blade of his sword, the ape like beast pressed down onto his blade creating creaking sounds as Kenta sunk down to his knees.

Sweat slid down his brow as he felt the monstrous physical strength of the ape like beast. However, as Kenta struggled to resist the heavy weight crushing his body something unnatural happened....

ROOOAAAR!

The once clear azure sky suddenly became cloudy as purple lightning flickered occasionally in the sky. Soon, showers of purple lightning fell down like heavy rainfall striking the trees!

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!...

One after another the trees toppled over as they were struck mercilessly by the purple lightning!

The ape like beast's expression changed warily as if it had felt danger coming from those purple lightning that fell occasionally!

The strength in its arm weakened as a hint of fear appeared in its eyes, and seizing that moment of weakness, Kenta pushed away the ape like beast as he retreated cautiously.

"Haah! These apes I heard their adopt fighters in close range but, I wonder how skilled you are in long range." Kenta muttered; his blue pupils shone dangerously as a thought appeared in his mind. Soon, his lips curved upwards.

"Thunder spear!" A magic formation appeared before his outstretched hand and fired three spears made of lightning!

Roar!

The ape like beast roared before leaping into the air evading the spears coming towards it skillfully.

However, "Thunder spear!" Kenta once again fired a barrage of Thunder spears firing them towards the branches of the trees that could be used as a possible foothold.

These creatures not only are they adopted close range fighters but also very agile when moving through trees!

'If you're not going to make things easy for me then I guess I might as well let you die the most painful death possible!' Kenta thought as his lips were raised upwards into a smirk.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Each of the Thunder spears flew through the air drawing a beautiful purple arc behind them while cutting down all obstacles in their path of trajectory, the ape like beast tried evading them using the trees in the distance but, to its surprise all its attempts were fruitless as the Thunder spears continued to close in on it at a tremendous speed.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

ROAR!

A painful cry leaked out of its mouth as its leg was impaled by the Thunder spear, the ape like beast held firmly onto a thick tree branch while it's face grimaced from the pain but, soon more thunder spear came flying in its direction one after another stabbing its limbs causing its giant body to fall heavily onto the ground with a thud!

The black furred ape like beast tried pulling out the Thunder spear from its leg with its arm that was also penetrated with another thunder spear but, every time it tried to move its limbs an electric current would travel through its body causing it more pain as it grimaced.

Soon a shadow loomed over its large body as a heavy weight fell onto its chest! Standing over the ape like beast with his leg pressed onto its stomach was a young boy with light blonde hair fluttering in the wind, wearing a long dark purple coat which danced behind his back. A pair of blue eyes which resemble the vast ocean.

'Hmmm! As I thought this sword has gotten more sharper than it was when it first appeared, but why?' He wondered to himself.

However, no matter how much he thought about it he couldn't come up with any possible answers, Kenta himself didn't fully understand the concept of the greatsword that suddenly appeared to him out of nowhere, who knows he might never be able to fully understand it.

'Oh, well whatever, it doesn't matter anyway as long as I can become stronger that's all that matters to me in the end.'

Kenta thought, before looking down on the body of the ape like beast chillingly as he smiled, and with one smooth motion he slit the neck of the ape like beast causing its darkish red blood to splash everywhere!

Feeling his soul becoming stronger Kenta smiled happily, how many monsters has he killed already?

He had completely lost count, whatever the case the more he killed the stronger he got, his plan was to continue killing everything he could find to become stronger!

Incidentally whenever he killed something with his magic, he noticed nothing particularly happened, his soul doesn't become stronger, and he got nothing from it.

It was obvious that gaining more power the more he killed was an ability exclusive to his sword rather than an ability of Kenta himself.

"Hahaha! One month.... Before the opening of the magic academy, I'll become as strong as possible!"

Kenta declared. He quickly brought out his identification card and quickly checked if there were any changes but,

"Sigh! Still nothing, huh? Well, there is nothing that can be done about this now anyway."

Kenta once again sighed heavily as his figure disappeared from that place in an instant.

"My potential doesn't matter! If killing is the only option for me to be strong then so be it! I'll kill everything to increase my strength even if it's just a little!"

Kenta exclaimed. His sword flickered as the cries of many beasts kept sounding from various parts of the vast forest.

Meanwhile as Kenta was slaying all the monster using the 'Soul eater' Sword! Something was happening inside an ancient labyrinth. The interior of the labyrinth was dark, not even a single speck of sunlight could be seen here.

Down the deepest parts of the labyrinth also known as its core, there was a majestic looking throne there, a skeleton of a human could be seen elegantly sitting on the throne with its hand stretched out as though it was once holding something in its hands. However, that wasn't all on either side of the room there were two statues placed there.

One was the statue of what seemed to be a handsome young man dressed in plate armor with a stone sword sheath at his waist, as for the female she was also dressed in plate armor and had a spear clutch in one hand.

Every time Kenta swung the soul eater sword the two statue shook slightly as small cracks started to appear on their bodies which becomes more apparent the more power he draws from the sword.
