Chapter Twenty- The Mind of Chaos

There are many jobs that seem really boring. Being the King of the Universe is one of them. The paperwork is tremendous and the never ending world of politics gives Chaos a headache. And with a new worry of how his son is doing, Chaos feels like giving the universe a little high-five. In the face. With a chair. Made of metal.

Honestly, Chaos needed a break from the world. A vacation could work, Chaos thought. Maybe in the Bahamas, with all the palm trees and the yummy coconuts, and the never ending food.

Chaos internally slapped himself in the face. He had a planet to rule, people to govern, and armies to control. He didn't have time for a vacation.

But the more Chaos thought about it, the more pleasant the idea seemed, until he couldn't take it anymore.

Maybe I should go clear my mind, Chaos thought. Watching the A sector train will help.

So Chaos sat up from his work desk and quietly walked to the training grounds outside of the castle, where sounds of swords clanging, arrows whizzing, and people shouting could be heard.

He walked towards the stands that sat on the side of the field, and found a seat that gave him a good line of vision to see his soldiers training. He could see Ethan, one of his most reliable soldiers, Lee and Michael (who he knew because they played a lot of pranks on him), and then there was Castor, who was just very nice to people ( which Chaos doesn't get, because Dionysus is a bit of a bastard.) There was also the old Hunters of Artemis and Amazons, Kinzie, Naomi, Phoebe, and Celyn, who were maiming dummies left and right with their arrows (They scared Chaos very much, actually.)

He could see Minji, one of his special female warriors, who he reserved for the men who liked to use females in, ahem, ahem, inappropriate ways. Minji was always very pleased to assassinate these men for their wrongdoings to women, which was why he hired her to be in the A sector and a part of the MUSES (Chaos wasn't very good with names.), a female warriors team, that did special assignments. Minji was part of this group, and another girl named Karmen who was one of the healers. And so was Thalia, who took time off from the Elite to help the MUSES.

And walking around the battlefield, shouting orders and yelling at people for mistakes, was Halcyon Green. He was actually recruited a long time ago, and when Thalia and Luke first saw him, they nearly fainted from seeing him alive and breathing again. They visit him often.

"Chaos!" shouted one of the soldiers. Andrus was his name, and he was one of the strongest sword fighters of the sectors. "What are you doing here?"

Nearly everybody stopped their training and turned to look at Chaos, who was standing there with an awkward expression on his face.

Chaos waved them off. " Go on, keep training. Just watching how you're faring and how well you've improved the last few days." Andrus shared a look with one of his friends, Eyvìnder.

Eyvìnder was from one of the ice planets, Nakeumbah (which was part of the reason why Chaos turned the planets into numbers, but it didn't make remembering them any easier.) It carried all kinds of earthen species, except these organisms were trapped in blocks of ice. It was like the Ice Age of Earth, but humans were also frozen and nothing made any movement there, except for the few people who somehow weren't frozen and learned how to survive in the brutal weather. Eyvìnder was one of these few people.

"Get back to work, Sector A. Or else, you'll stay up late tonight learning about the history of the universe!" Yelled Halcyon.

Scattered groans sounded from here and there. Immediately, the Warriors turned back to what they were doing, and Halcyon slowly limped towards Chaos.

"How's that leg of yours doing?" Chaos asked him. "Is it healing?"

Halcyon sighed. "It's been three weeks, but my leg's been the same since when that cursed mongrel bit me."

Chaos laughed. "It was a dog, Green. It shouldn't be that bad."

"Tell it to the huge bite mark on my leg."

"Fine, fine, " Chaos said. He sat there silent for a few seconds before he realized something. "Aren't you going to Earth in a few days?"

Halcyon nodded his head. " I'm planning to see the Elite there. Why?"

"Could you check up on Omega for me? He didn't really leave on good terms with the gods when he came here."

"Got it. Anything else you need?"

"And please get me some coconuts while you're there. I've been craving them lately."

Halcyon grinned at him, his crooked smile laughing at Chaos. "Paperwork stress?"

"Yes." Chaos rubbed his forehead. "I've been dreaming about the Bahamas for a while now."

"Maybe you and I can get our vacation when Omega comes back. He'll take care of it."

"I don't think that'll be happening soon." Chaos said. "You probably already know this, but End is coming back."

"I know." Halcyon said, with a somber nod. "We'll get over this. We have strong warriors and talented healers and staff. I'm sure End will be gone in a few months." But his face still looked grave.

Chaos stood. "I guess I'll get going then. Farewell, Green." Chaos took off his invisible hat and bowed low to Halcyon.

A small smile grew on Halcyon's face, and he shook Chaos's hand. "See you, my friend."

Chaos chuckled. "We sound so old."

"But aren't we?" Halcyon said.

He waved at Chaos and limped back to Sector A, while Chaos walked away, back to his suffocating office.

At least he had a small breath of fresh air.

Great news, guys! I finally updated!!

I really am so sorry that I haven't updated during the summer, but I forgot all about it and this is not such a great excuse.

Anyways, I haven't told you guys my age, because I'm afraid wattpad will kick me out, but I finally got into to middle school!! I'm taking advanced classes again, and it is so tiring and I just want to die from all the homework I have. This is one of those rare weekends where I don't have any homework (last week I had to dissect a poem) so I updated this! It's shorter than what I usually write, but it's something.
