Madeline once loved the stary night. She used to love going outside with her mother counting how many stars the pair could see. Madeline always started counting on her fingers, but the second she did. She reached to many to hold on her hands. That's when her mother would then join in. Adding 10 more fingers to the game. Which also didn't last long.
For both of them together didn't have enough fingers to count all the stars they saw. Since there were so many. There was always so many stars to see, to count. Madeline knows now that the 20 fingers they had put together isn't a lot.
But when she was young. She thought it was incredible to have 20. The stars gave her many, yet she was okay with 20. That was enough for her. She could only wish the 20 starts now would be enough. But now she only had ten fingers.
And that's where she was, sitting outside in a rocking chair looking at the stars wishing she had more. It calmed her down for so much had happen tonight. Maggie had found the boys mother in the woods where Rick said she should be. She had been brought back to the house. That was sad enough, watching a mother come to find out her son has been shot. And is in desperate need of surgery.
Plus Otis was on a run with the brown haired boy who she learned the name was Shane, to the high school in there town. The very one she graduated from just months before the end.
Now everything just felt like a waiting game. Waiting for the next move, to come into play. The rocking chair Madeline sat on, on the porch was okay enough for her to play the waiting game in.
Of course her silence is interrupted, "So do we ring the bell? I mean it looks like people live here." Another voice was she unfamiliar with. A voice very different from the ones you heard from around here. It was a city boy voice. "We're past this kind of stuff, aren't we? Having to be considerate." Another very city voice said.
Madeline being very nosy, was interested in just letting them talk for a second. Instead of joining in, telling them to go on in. After the long day everyone's had. Listening to the very confused man made her crack a smile.
As Madeline's pearly whites showed slowly, she had another voice join the mix. "Did you close the gate up the road when you drove in?" Maggie's voice joined in. Madeline's teeth hide away again. She didn't hear the door open. And she also didn't know Maggie was out here.
Madeline stood up from her chair walking over to the two boys. Who were now turned to her from her foot steps being heard loud and clear. Both of them stood going back and forth the two girls who stood staring at them. "Well did you?" Madeline finally said after a couple more seconds of the boys heads spinning.
"Uh, hi. Yes, we closed it. Did the latch and everything. Hello. Nice to see you again. We met before briefly. Look, we came to help. There anything we can do?" Madeline held back her own laughter from how shy and nervous the Asian man was. Maggie's head turned to her sisters the second her laugh was heard as did the two man. Of course Maggie giving a very disapproving look. The other two just confused.
"What it's funny-" Madeline went to defend her outburst of laughs. Till being cut from by her older sister. "Were you bit?"
Madeline's laugh yet again died looking down towards the guy Maggie was looking at. That's when she saw a blood soaked cloth. Madeline hadn't seen a bite before, she only heard of them on the news when the the outbreak started. Maggie didn't also. How sheltered the family was, is shown time and time again.
"It's not a bite. I cut myself pretty bad though." Her fear basically gone from his words.
"We'll have it looked at. I'll tell them you're here." Maggie was first to talk between the two girls. "We are basically a hospital now." Her very desperate attempt to make someone laugh. Anyone at this point to make light of this. Yet only one did. Her eyes moved to the one guy who seen the joke as what it was. Something to just make someone laugh. That's when her eyes locked with the Asian boy. A small smile appeared on her face, as did his.
The other two giving her a weird looks. With that Madeline's head went down, to hide the fact she had found her joke so funny.
"We have some painkillers and antibiotics. I already gave him some. If Carl needs any." The Asian man spoke again. While the other one was quietly suffering in pain form his cut. Madeline still with her head down stepped infront of the boys. Opening the door, "Come on inside. Maggie will make you something to eat." Madeline's voice very quite for she still wanted to laugh, said as she stepped into the house. Then stepping aside to let the boys walk in.
Lastly her sister walked in, she was wearing a smile. "We're basically a hospital." She laughed as she spoke walking by her sister. Madeline yet again smiled.

The two guys had talked to rick and Lori before stepping into the kitchen to get some food, and the black guys cut snitched up. As they all stood around watching Patricia sewing him back up. And having a conversation Madeline didn't even care to listen in on.
She heard the front door to the house open, which made her turn instantly as did everyone else also. The Greene girls were hoping it was Otis walking in with the supplies to help Carl. While the city boys were hoping it was there friend Shane. But everyone was wanting the same thing, that they would have the supplies to save the very tiny boy laying in the bed unconscious.
To everyone disappointment it was Rick and Lori walking out. But everyone understood why they maybe couldn't be in that room no more. But Madeline didn't want the boy to be alone. So she wasn't going to let him be alone.
Without anyone paying no attention to her, she slipped out of the kitchen walking to the long hall.
Madeline stood at the door of the first room of the house. What used to be a spare now used as a medical wing. She almost felt like it was rude to just walk into the room. It was her house of course, but the room held a broken boy. The room where two parents had just sat praying for the safety and survival of their son. Even with all Thoses thoughts playing in for head, she still walked in.
And she was going to sit with him till he got better.
I'm sorry everyone this chapter kinda sucked, but! I'm just waiting till the whole ass cast gets there. Then there be more dialogue, and more action.
Make sure you comment if you see any miss spellings!!
