After the barn, everyone went their on ways. Trying to process and understand what had just happened before their eyes. Keeping walkers locked up was crazy to the group. They hadn't seen nothing like it, they couldn't understand it as well. As if none of them to put themselves in the shoes of losing their wife, husband, or child. Well most of them.Rick was going to talk to her dad. She thought it was best if she wasn't there. She couldn't bear to hear the words again that painted her father as a monster. As a bad guy. She also couldn't deal with that fact being that her dad, 100 percent. Would tell Rick that if they had a problem, they can just leave.
She didn't want to see any of it. Any at all. As a matter of fact, she rather watch water boil than that. She loved her father. She hoped the group maybe kinda liked her dad, besides of course Shane. She knew for a fact that with this going on now. He was hoping it would distract her, from running her mouth. Or sending them burning glares because for once, she would be getting them from everyone else.
But that wasn't the case. She wasn't her father, most of them knew that. Plus most of them had started to like her, they saw her for what she is. Kind and pure, wouldn't hurt a fly. Much worse, harm them.
Madeline's ran right behind Daryl, trying to catch up with him. As he stomped up the dirt hill. She wasn't looking for anything, but she thought she was forming something with the group. She wanted to show that she cared, she cared for all of them. She acted about what Shane had said to Daryl. And how wrong it was "Daryl." Madeline called out, her pace be coming faster for he was quite fast.
Daryl turned his head while walking, as he did he let out a scoff the second he saw it was her. Rolling his eyes with it also, just adding to his annoyed state.
Madeline couldn't hear that, from the distance and probably her panting trying to catch her breath. "are you alright? Shane shouldn't have said that to you." Madeline said finally closer to him, to where she can slow her pace. The trees giving them shade from the bright sun. Her words were meant with kindness, for she truly did believe what she was saying. What Shane said was nasty.
Daryl was angry, he's angry that she put herself in a place like that. For what? To show everyone she can help. To what? Prove to the group that she was with them. When really she was just risking her life, for something as pointless as trying to stop him and Shane. "You're a dumb bitch you know that." Daryl said back, facing forward while he shook his head.
Madeline's heart dropped at his words. All the pace she had from before coming to a holt, all breathing she had leaving her mouth coming to an end.
"What are you thinking?" Daryl almost yelled because of how mad he was. Which made probably wasn't the right word. He was livid, outraged, frustrated, pissed. He then turned around, to face the girl who thought she was doing something good. When really she was getting herself hurt. Putting herself in stupid situations.
Madeline stared at him like a deer in headlights. Her eyes widened, her mouth partially opened. While her inner body and mind was doing all the moving. Her heart was in her stomach, she wanted to clinch it. Holding her stomach to stop herself from falling forward. Her mind trying to put together everything the man was saying.
The second daryl saw her though, his heart pitched him. He didn't want to own up to it. That when he got upset. He got angry. All he could see was his father in him. But somehow this was different, for that he didn't like seeing her effected by his words. But he couldn't care, he won't allow himself. He told himself he didn't. So he believed he didn't.
"You don't know Shane-" Madeline was scared to speak, the look in his eyes pushed the fear even more. Everyone word he spoke, felt like it had pushed her back. Really though she hadn't moved a inch.
