Hospital Visit (The Mirror)

When I woke up, I was in a room that was all white and I heard beeping that sounded like a heart monitor. "What the-... what happened?" I looked around and I didn't see anyone in the room and I sighed and when I lifted my right arm, I felt a sharp pain. "OW!" I groaned and sat up and looked at my arm. It was in a cast. A black cast. I groaned, "Great, my arms broken but at least the cast is a color I like." A few minutes later, a nurse walks in, "Oh good, you're awake!" I nodded and she checked on how I was and then she left. I sighed and laid down on the bed and closed my eyes. I wish my friends, boyfriend, and sister were here. That would be nice.

When the door opened again, I thought it would be a nurse or doctor but when I opened my eyes, I saw Will. "Nico! Oh my god, you're okay!" Will walked up to me and hugged me. I hugged him back and when we pulled away, he kissed my forehead. "I'm so glad you're okay." Will sat down on the side of the bed and I asked, "Where are our friends?" Will answered with, "They're in the waiting room along with your family." I nodded and sat up, "How long was I out for?"

"Not long... a few hours actually." I sighed in relief, at least I wasn't out for a week or more like once before. I asked Will what had happened and he was hesitant to answer. "Will?" I asked him, "What happened?" He looked at the ground and rubbed the back of his neck, "You sure you want to know?" "Let me guess... did Percy have something to do with the reason I'm in the hospital?" Will nodded and I groaned, "Of course he is." I laid my head on Will's lap and I felt him rub my back. After a while, I sat up and the nurse from before walked into the room. "I see that you're fully awake now." The nurse told me and I nodded, "Am I able to see my family and friends?" I asked her and she nodded, "They're on their way right now." The nurse looked at Will, "Sir, may you please get up off the bed?" Will does and he goes and sits on the chair.

When the nurse was finished checking all the things that needed to be checked, my family and friends came inside the room. "Nico!" Bianca came over to the bed, hugged me, and playfully punched my good shoulder, "Don't you ever do that again, you hear me?" I nodded and looked over at my friends. Frank smiled at me and Leo sat down next to me on the bed, "Don't scare us like that, amigo." "I'll try not to do it again." I told Leo then mumbled to myself, "But I can't make any promises." When it was getting dark, Hazel, Piper, Leo, and Frank all left and my family plus Will stayed. "How long am I going to be here?" I asked my parents and my Mom answered with, "Probably just for tonight and they will let you go home tomorrow." I sighed and laid down on the ground and turned on the TV and the show 'Friends' was on and Bianca told me to keep it on that channel so I did. "Willl..." I whined and looked over at him and he looked up from his phone, "You okay, Neeks?" He asked me.

"Do you have games on your phone?" I did puppy dog eyes and Will chuckled and handed me his phone. I looked though Will's phone to find a game and I found 'Happy Rise' so I played that until I got tired and fell asleep.

"Come on, Nicole.... Wake up."

"Wake up!"

"WAKE UP!"

My eyes shot open and I felt my body shaking and I sat up drenched in sweat for some reason. I got up and when I waked into the bathroom, I saw the girl in the mirror again, which I'm used to but when I moved to wash my face, I heard her say, "Let me show you what your father took away from you." And that's when her hands came out from the mirror and pulled me in.

"What the- where am I?" I looked around and I was in a black void there was a light right in front of me and I did what all sane people do. I touched it.

I was flooded with images that were like mine but different I was a girl playing with my older brother. The girl was having fun all care free and without anything to worry about but then the image changed to the girl in the hospital bed. "You will return to your rightful body in your rightful dimension."

I gasped for air and backed away from the mirror and when I blinked a few times, normally the girl in the mirror would go away, but this time it didn't work. "What the hell, come on!" I tried to stop my hands from shaking but I couldn't. "Leave me alone." I told the girl in the mirror but she didn't go away. "Why are you here? What do you want with me?" I asked her and she answered, "I'm your subconscious and I'm here because you need me." I shook my head, "No, no! I don't need you!"

"But you do, Nicole. You're not in the right body or dimension but soon enough you will be." She left after that and my normal reflection was back in the mirror. "No, no... I'm in the right dimension... I have a family, friends, I-I have a boyfriend here." I washed my face with my shaky hands and I exited the bathroom as soon as I could and tried to go back to sleep after that but I couldn't so I did the next best thing.

I played games on Will's phone until morning.
