"Here's your cappuccino, sir,"
The waiter approaches and places it on the table. He says with a polite nod.
Jungkook thanks the waiter and takes hold of the cup, bringing it to his lips for a sip. The warmth of the beverage fills him, and a nostalgic smile graces his lips as he starts to recall the events of that memorable day.
He puts the cup down and looks at his daughter, Jieun, her expectant gaze urging him to continue. One by one, the memories flood back, each detail as vivid as if it had happened only yesterday.
"Once upon a time there was a beautiful city. I was a part of it," Jungkook begins, his voice soft with reminiscence. The image of the bustling streets and vibrant colors fills his mind, transporting him back to that moment in time. "And then one day, like a wonder," he gestures with his hands, "the rain... it became a witness."
As if nature itself was orchestrating the scene, the rain began to fall outside the café window. Droplets cascaded down the glass pane, casting a blurred veil over the outside world, as if nature was setting the stage for the unfolding narrative.
Inside, the warm glow of the café provided a cozy refuge from the elements, enveloping the trio in a cocoon of comfort as they delved deeper into Jungkook's memories. Taehyung, seated beside Jungkook and Jieun, was, his eyes fixed on the rain-soaked streets beyond the window.
But before Jungkook can continue, Jieun interrupts, her innocent curiosity breaking the spell. "Dad, wait... who should I imagine?" she asks, her brow furrowed in confusion.
Caught off guard by her question, Jungkook's puzzled expression reflects his uncertainty.
"Huh?" he responds,
Jieun persists, her curiosity unabated. "In place of dada, who should I imagine?" she clarifies, her eyes wide with anticipation.
Taehyung, ever perceptive, couldn't help but smile softly at the innocence reflected in Jieun's wide-eyed gaze.
But as his gaze shifted to Jungkook, his smile faltered, replaced by a flicker of concern as he noticed the conflicted expression etched on Jungkook's face. Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, Taehyung recognized the dilemma Jungkook was facing, he turns to Jieun to help out. With a gentle tap on her shoulder to gain her attention, he leans in and speaks softly.
"Jieunah, look at me," he says, his voice warm and reassuring.
When Jieun turns to him, Taehyung meets her gaze with a reassuring smile. "Imagine me," he suggests, his eyes twinkling with encouragement.
Jungkook, taken aback by Taehyung's unexpected suggestion, looks up at him with surprise, a myriad of emotions swirling in his eyes. Jieun, smiling widely keeps her focus on Taehyung's face and nods in agreement, urging her father to continue the story.
But Jungkook's gaze remains fixed on Taehyung, his thoughts drifting as he grapples with the implications of Taehyung's suggestion. Taehyung notices the conflict in Jungkook's expression and raises an eyebrow in question, silently prompting him to continue.
Finally coming out of his reverie, Jungkook clears his throat and picks up where he left off, his voice tinged with emotion as he recounts the tale of that fateful day.
