Under the bright morning sun, Jieun strolls along the sidewalk, her youthful energy evident in every step. Dressed in casual attire, she wears oversized sunglasses that shield her eyes from the glare, adding a touch of coolness to her demeanor. A colorful backpack hangs effortlessly from her shoulders, its contents jostling with each movement, while a wooden windfan toy protrudes from the top, swaying gently with the rhythm of her steps.
Beside her, Bam, her loyal canine companion, trots along obediently, his leash securely held in Jieun's grasp. His tail wags excitedly as he sniffs the air, his ears perked in anticipation of the adventures ahead.
But suddenly, Bam's demeanor shifts, his excitement palpable as he begins to pull at his leash, his boundless energy propelling him forward. Jieun's grip tightens instinctively, but before she can react, the leash slips from her grasp, sending Bam careening ahead, his eager strides pulling her along in his wake.
"Stop, Bam! What's gotten into you?" Jieun calls out; her voice tinged with concern and bewilderment as she struggles to keep pace with her spirited companion.
With a sense of urgency, she removes her sunglasses, the world coming into sharper focus as she squints against the sudden brightness. But in her haste, the glasses slipped from her fingers, tumbling to the ground with a soft clatter.
"Please, someone catch him!" she pleads, her voice carrying over the din of the bustling street.
Amidst the throng of pedestrians, a figure catches her eye—a young man clad in a long coat, his bright blonde hair framing his face like a halo. His sweet siren eyes meet hers, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he listens to her desperate cries for help.
"Please, somebody help,"
Jieun's heart leaps with relief as the stranger steps forward, his confident stride carrying him towards Bam. With practiced ease, he reaches out and grasps the runaway dog's leash, bringing him to a halt with a firm yet gentle hand.
As Bam finally comes to a stop, Jieun leans against a nearby wall, her chest heaving with exertion as she catches her breath. Despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins, she feels an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards the stranger who came to her aid in her moment of need.
With a grateful smile, she offers her thanks, the weight of the moment lifting from her shoulders as she basks in the warmth of his kindness. As the guy walks Bam back towards Jieun's direction, he speaks to the dog in soothing tones, praising him for being a good boy. Bam's tail wags happily, his excitement now tempered by the return of his owner.
Upon reaching Jieun, the guy passes the leash back to her with a warm smile, saying, "Here you go. He's quite the energetic one, isn't he?"
Jieun gratefully accepts the leash, her breath still ragged as she leans against the wall, struggling to regain her composure. Sensing her discomfort, the guy's smile softens into a look of concern as he notices her labored breathing.
With a sympathetic nod, he reaches into the tote bag slung over his shoulder and retrieves a water bottle, offering it to Jieun. "Do you need some water? It might help," he suggests gently. Jieun shakes her head weakly, her voice strained as she replies, "No thank you. I can't drink cold or outside water, only warm water."
Understanding her reluctance, the guy nods understandingly, returning the water bottle to his bag. Instead, he watches attentively as Jieun retrieves her own water bottle from her backpack, taking a few sips to soothe her parched throat.
Once she's finished, he takes the water bottle from her, gently stowing it back in her backpack with a tender touch. As he does so, his fingers brush against her hair, a gesture of comfort and reassurance.
