Chapter - 3

The sunlit morning bathes the living room as Jungkook and Jieun engage in playful antics. Laughter echoes through the air as he twirls her around and envelops her in a warm, tight hug.

As Jieun retreats to her studies, Jungkook observes her with a mix of pride and conflict. He can't help but marvel at her dedication, yet the promise looms over him like a shadow. Despite the inner turmoil, he keeps his emotions hidden, not wanting to cast a cloud over his daughter's determination.

The afternoon brings them to Jieun's school for a parent-teacher meeting. In the classroom, as the teacher explains various aspects of Jieun's progress, Jungkook and Jieun playfully engage in a game of thumbsie, a small act that lightens the atmosphere and brings smiles to their faces.

During the meeting, Jieun's teacher praised her academic performance and noted how well she was doing in her classes.

As the meeting wraps up, Jieun's teacher requests a private conversation with Jungkook. "I just wanted to tell you how impressed I am with Jieun's progress," the teacher begins. "She's doing exceptionally well, and I can see that she's putting in a lot of effort." Jungkook smiles, feeling proud of his daughter.

"Thank you, that means a lot to me," he replies. The teacher leans in closer, and Jungkook feels the warmth of her breath on his cheek. He doesn't smell anything on her, she's a human

"You're doing a great job as a father," she whispers, her hand lightly brushing against his shoulder.

Jungkook feels a jolt of discomfort at the proximity but tries not to show it. "Thank you, I appreciate that," he replies, hoping the conversation will end soon.

Unbeknownst to them, Jieun observes the exchange from the side, her mood darkening with each passing moment. She can't explain why, but seeing her teacher so close to her father makes her feel uneasy and upset.

As they walk out of the classroom, Jieun falls silent, lost in her thoughts. Jungkook notices her change in demeanor and tries to engage her in conversation. "What did you think of the meeting, Jieun?" he asks.

"It's fine," Jieun replies curtly, not meeting his gaze. Jungkook senses her mood and decides to leave her alone for the time being, hoping she will open up to him later.

In her room, Jieun's mood takes a turn when she notices a vibrant butterfly fluttering just outside her window. Excitement overcomes her, and she rushes towards the window, her small hands pressing against the glass in an attempt to touch the delicate creature.

Jungkook, standing at the door, watches the transformation in his daughter's demeanor. He admires the resilience and innocence that radiates from her. "What's got you so excited, princess?" he asks, a warm smile on his face.

Jieun turns, her eyes sparkling with joy. "Daddy, look at the butterfly! It's so pretty!"

Jungkook steps into the room, his heart swelling with love for his daughter. "It is indeed beautiful, just like you."

Jungkook reminisces about a day.

In the flashback, Jieun spots a delicate butterfly outside her window, and her eyes light up with delight. Eager to get a closer look, she rushes to the window, hoping to extend a friendly greeting. However, the butterfly, perhaps startled, flutters away, leaving behind a saddened Jieun.

Jungkook, witnessing his daughter's disappointment, can't bear to see her dreams flutter away like the butterfly did. Determined to bring joy to Jieun's world, he takes it upon himself to transform their garden into a haven for vibrant butterflies.

For the next few days, Jungkook tirelessly works on changing the plantations. He replaces the green foliage with an array of colorful flowers, carefully selecting each one to attract and nourish butterflies.
