Chapter - 19

Fuming with concern and frustration, Yoongi strides up to Jungkook's house, his mind racing with worry upon hearing from Mr. Kang about Jieun's disappearance. He pounds on the door, the urgency evident in each rap of his knuckles, but there's no response. Anxious and growing increasingly impatient, he tries the doorknob, finding it unlocked.

Without hesitation, Yoongi pushes the door open and steps inside, his concern overriding any sense of propriety. The atmosphere inside the house feels heavy with tension as he enters, the silence unnerving. He calls out for Jungkook, his voice echoing through the empty rooms, but there's no answer. However, his anger and concern dissipate when he sees Jungkook and Jieun sitting silently at the dining table, their faces grave, and their untouched food serving as a testament to their troubled state of mind.

Yoongi sighs in relief after seeing Jieun healthy and safe back at home.

With a perplexed expression, Yoongi positions himself between Jungkook and Jieun, his gaze shifting between them as he addresses Jungkook first. "Jungkook, why didn't you tell me what happened yesterday?" he asks, but Jungkook remains unresponsive, lost in his thoughts.

Turning to Jieun, Yoongi inquires about her whereabouts, concern evident in his voice. "Jieunah, where did you go yesterday? You know it's not safe to wander off alone," he says, but like Jungkook, Jieun offers no reply.

Frustration creeps into Yoongi's tone as he addresses both of them again. "Jungkook, will you please tell me what happened yesterday? And why do you both look so despondent?" he implores, but his words fall on deaf ears.

Exasperated, Yoongi leans back in his chair, letting out a sigh. "Damn," he mutters under his breath, growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of communication. "Does anyone intend to speak in this house, or are we playing a game of dumb charades?" he quips, attempting to lighten the mood with a joke.

When his attempts at humor yield no response, Yoongi raises his hands in exasperation, addressing the heavens above. "God, make someone open their mouth in this house," he murmurs, hoping for a breakthrough in the silence that surrounds them.

As the house bell rings, Yoongi gestures towards the sound with a sarcastic remark, his frustration evident. "Did you hear that?" he quips, addressing the silent occupants of the house. "Continue with your cold war, let it be the paperman or milkman," he adds dryly, his tone tinged with irritation. "I will make him my friend."

With determined strides, Yoongi makes his way towards the main door, his curiosity piqued despite his exasperation. He opens the door, ready to confront whoever is on the other side, but his words falter and his eyes widen in disbelief when he sees who it is.

For a moment, Yoongi is frozen in shock, unable to comprehend what he's seeing. Is it really him? How many years has it been? 6 years? 7 years? His mind reels with disbelief as he tries to process the sight before him.

In a daze, Yoongi makes a cross in the air, as if seeking divine intervention to make sense of the surreal moment. Taehyung stands before him, wearing a smile that Yoongi can scarcely believe is real.

"Yoongi?" Taehyung's voice breaks through the haze of disbelief, prompting Yoongi to whisper his name in return, "Taehyung," still grappling with the reality of the situation.

Taehyung's brow furrows slightly as he questions how Yoongi knows his name, and Yoongi, shaken from his stupor, clears his throat and asks in return, "How do you know me?"

A smile plays on Taehyung's lips as he responds, "You're exactly like I imagined when Jungkook was narrating the story."

As Taehyung's voice resonates from outside the house, Jungkook's attention is immediately diverted. With a swift movement, he rises from his seat and strides purposefully towards the door, his urgency palpable. Pushing past Yoongi, who is still processing the unexpected encounter, Jungkook commands, "Move away."
