Getting Used To It

Waking up to the smell of coffee is not something I have experienced in years, but here I am lying in bed with the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafting through my bedroom. I groan and roll over, my joints feeling tight but not too painful. Basking in the silence I lay on my stomach before pushing myself upright and glancing around to locate my chair. I see it safely pushed into the corner and sigh, before walking unsteadily over to it. Heading into the bathroom, I remember the protective diaper and sigh before removing it and putting cream over the burns. I give it a moment to settle in before getting back into my pyjamas and brushing my teeth.

It's only as I'm staring at myself in the mirror that I acknowledge the obvious nervous feeling about going into the kitchen and seeing who is there. Sighing I finish my teeth and consider starting an in-depth skincare routine before rolling out of the bathroom. Avoiding is going to make it worse, I remind myself silently.

"Morning doll, how are you this morning?" Ren's voice greets me as I enter the living/kitchen area. It's only when I'm fully in the kitchen that I get the beautiful view of him at the counter working on his laptop, he has his braids down this morning and I officially need to start a petition for him to only wear his hair down. While I thought he looked gorgeous with it up, it's even better down.

"Morning, I'm fine, yeah. How you found coffee is beyond me," I laugh at him as he grips his cup protectively. My kitchen was basically empty and definitely did not have the coffee machine sitting on my counter when I went to sleep last night.

"You do know I can't have coffee at the moment? So no need to protect your cup like a mother bear. What I do want to know however is how you got a coffee machine here by," I glance at my clock, "7am," I look at him in disbelief once the reality of the time hits me.

"I'm an early bird, and may have asked my friend who lives near me to bring my coffee machine over on his way to work," he tells me defensively. "You asked him to bring you your whole machine and I assume coffee beans since I definitely didn't have any instead of asking him to bring you coffee from a drive through on the way. Or even ordering some online?" I ask him slowly, the words slowly sink in and he blushes before pushing his hair back.

"It... my brain doesn't work before coffee," he says bashfully before coming over and giving me a peck on the cheek. "Ok so I know your on a strict feed only diet at the moment minus liquids obviously so do you want to have your feed and head out for the day?" he suggests to me as he holds my hand in his.

Thinking for a moment I nod before shaking my head which he can't see as I'm half in the fridge. This idiot.

"Hey, Mr CEO. We have work," I deadpan, he frowns before glancing at his phone. His face drops."Fuck, I thought it was Sunday. Are you working in the office today?" he asks me as he starts to tidy up his dishes. I roll into my room and grab my feed machine and head back into the living room where Ren is frantically getting things tidy.

" I might yeah, just so Nora doesn't get on my back again," I think about it and glance at my feed. There's a good 30 minutes of the feed to do and if I plan on getting to work via public transport because taxis are expensive I need to leave sooner than that.

"Did you forget already? You are now your own supervisor, Nora is gone, you have your own office," Ren reminds me, laughing softly at my confusion.

"Oh yeah, I should probably clean up my cubicle then so yeah I'll head in," I decide. Ren nods in agreement before heading towards my bedroom. I hear him rooting in my wardrobe and frown, I am significantly smaller than him, he's not gonna fit in my clothes.

He reappears a few minutes later in the same clothes. "I set out a cute outfit for you. I do have to head off now so I can get dressed myself but I'll meet you outside here in about..... An hour? And we can head to work together," he tells me as he grabs his shoes.

"Oh no, we cannot show up to work together it'll be so obvious that we're like dating or something," I splutter, a blush definitely appears on my cheeks.

"No they won't, I can say we were having a breakfast meeting if it makes you that nervous. Anyways I will be back soon, behave," he blows a kiss at me and leaves.

Glancing over at my bedroom I let my curiosity take over and go see what he chose for me. I smile at the wine trousers with a black shirt laid out on my bed. He has good taste. I grab the trousers and begin the tedious project of getting ready.

Lying on my bed I look at my back brace with hatred in my stare, I have four tops on underneath it and it is still too loose. I sigh in defeat and take the brace and tops off deciding to stick with just the shirt for today.

"Don't forget the wound protective diaper," I hear Ren yell from the other room making me frown. "What do you mean the diaper?" I ask him confusion flooding my face. "The doctor said the dressings for a week, which would include the diaper," he reminds me making me pout a little before shimmying my trousers down and whipping off my boxers.

"Do you need help?" he asks me walking in, I look up and nod, my cheeks definitely going bright red. He smiles at me before kissing my forehead and grabbing one of the wound protecting diaper and getting me all wrapped up in it. Helping me slide on my trousers I stand up leaning on him slightly.

"The bulge is obvious with these trousers," I mutter pouting a little looking at my diaper bulge. "It doesn't look obvious, you only think that because you know it is there. You look beautiful, lets go before I end up ravaging you," he whispers in my ear, guiding me to my chair. I begin to push forward before he stops me.

"You need to strap yourself in Eli, you will get hurt," he mutters pulling the lap strap across and closing it. "You're being dramatic," I mutter to him as he pushes me into the living room. "You said you have fainting spells in reality there should be some form of chest harness on your chair too for the days you are weaker. What if you fall when you faint one day, you could get seriously injured," panic laces his voice and I smile at him.

"You don't need to worry, I have been dealing with this for years, not even using a wheelchair. I will be fine," I try to assure him.

"Well now you have me on your side to help you look after yourself, we are getting an attachable chest harness just in case. Ok?" he asks me and I nod.

Him looking after me is going to take some time to get used to as I never had anyone look after me before really.
