I had the school top dancer at my feet, sobbing, shortly after he threw himself at me and was now sobbing his eyes out.
My heart ached to see him like this, it seemed to ache for him and his pain.
The only thing I could be is sympathetic, as I stared down at him and wiped his tears from his eyes.
I couldn't help but want to reach out and pull him into the tightest hug, and I'm sure that's what he needed, but I'm not sure I'd ever want to let go of him if I held on to him right now.
I ran my hands through his hair as I whispered soothing words, my hands wanting to reach out, out, out, but I held it in.
He looked up at me with glassy eyes as his lips trembled in sadness, he pressed his lips into a tight line, trying to hold in his sobs.
I let one of my hands in his hair slide down to his mouth and I pressed my thumb onto it, tapping at it lightly until he let his lips fall free.
"There you go, don't hurt yourself..."
