Eda lay on Serkan's bed after the message exchange with Deniz. She hadn't planned to break up with Deniz, but she had.

And she felt... relieved?

The Eda wasn't sure what she was feeling, only that she didn't want to deal with anyone, especially not Kiraz or Serkan.

Her phone rang unexpectedly.

"Günaydın, Anne,"- Eda spoke softly into the phone receiver.

"Are you okay, Edacim?" Ayfer's asked, preoccupied.

"I don't know... Not really. I think I just broke up with Deniz," Eda said honestly.

"I see," Ayfer paused momentarily, then continued, "Was this decision due to Serkan?"

"No," Eda said, exasperated but without hesitation in her voice.

"Are you sure, canim?" Her mother insisted.

"Of course," she reiterated.

"You've been revolving around Serkan since he got back... Kiraz tells me you slept in the same bed last night. It's all she talked about after morning prayers. I sent her to Serkan's with Ferit to avoid your father misinterpreting anything," Ayfer suggested in a playful tone.

"That's a gross exaggeration! Serkan's just my friend. My close friend. And he didn't want me to sleep on the couch."

"Sure, because there aren't half a dozen extra rooms in that house for you to sleep in."

"Anne... I fell asleep waiting for Serkan to take me home, and...." Eda's voice shook.

"You dreamt about it again?"

"It was probably the medication I took... My head was reeling. I couldn't stop thinking about that day... I didn't want to be alone. I asked Serkan to chat with me, and he did until I fell asleep. Then, he made a barrier out of pillows to separate us. Serkan only held me when Kiraz called; Kiraz wanted to see us both on camera. And I fell asleep with my head on his chest. I probably shouldn't have, but I couldn't help it."

"Eda, I don't quite like Deniz. You're aware of this. His macho attitude rubs me the wrong way. So, I won't lie when I say I'm relieved you guys called the engagement off."

We didn't call the engagement off, Anne. Deniz and I just needed some time apart to reflect on things. Serkan even suggested that Deniz might need a wake-up call to get his act together and prove he wants me back."

"You want to get back together with Deniz?" Ayfer asked in surprise.

"Why wouldn't I? I love him."
