Everything was in place. They left the forests of the Amaroq Pack, where temperatures were verging on the negative, for the dry heat of Las Vegas by private plane, accompanied by Juliet. Three and a half hours later, they landed on the airport tarmac. When the doors opened, the warm early afternoon air greeted them. There was a bit of wind, and in it were grains of sand and the smell of silica. Their entry onto Las Vegas soil was masterful. The wind blew their clothes and hair. Their dark glasses made them look like they'd stepped out of a fashion magazine. Eric was the first to step off the plane, in his tobacco-coloured suit that fit perfectly over his muscular Alpha body. He waited for Lena at the bottom of the stairs. In her short strapless dress covered in sunflower print that flared out from her breasts, she was radiant. She took her husband's hand and he kissed it. She laughed with pleasure. Colin followed, white trousers, Hawaiian shirt open over a white t-shirt, like the Beta he was, he stood behind his Alpha. Juliet descended gracefully in her wrap dress with a geometric pattern on a red background, which highlighted her curves.

Morgan, in a black silk shirt with sleeves rolled over his arms and black trousers, his jewellery caught the warm rays of the sun. The aura he exuded spoke loud and clear of his status. Lastly, Galen's green, gold and brown Gucci suit might have looked excessive or ugly on someone else, but his stature and presence made the garment stand out and catch the eye. With Morgan dressed entirely in black, the contrast was striking and perfect.

Photos of their arrival quickly went viral. Americans remembered Eric as a young political wolf, and his success continued despite the tragic year. His wedding was the subject of news reports and interviews... As people close to him, Colin and Morgan were also well known, so their visit to Las Vegas had not gone unnoticed, either by the public or the newspapers, and that was what they wanted.

The luxury car from the Palms Hotel picked them up. Eric had booked one of the Sky villas and they were indecently luxurious. White marble veined with black everywhere, no exterior walls, everything was glass and mirrors, with a 360° view over the city and the desert. Private swimming pool, spa room, gym... everything was oversized, even the beds, round or not.

A discreet butler took care of them and their every wish — all they had to do was ring the bell. When Lena entered the suite, her eyes lit up. The human who was to be their male major greeted them deferentially and tried to keep a straight face in the face of Lena's juvenile ways, as she wanted to see and touch everything. Eric took off his sunglasses and put them in his jacket pocket.

"Lena, my little bird, don't run on the stairs, you might fly off."

Lena burst out laughing. She dragged Galen by the hand, "Come and see the bedrooms! Lena wants the round bed!"

Galen let himself be led while Hugo, their man major, took his instructions from Juliet. They were all in their comfort zones and Lena, being who she was, didn't really realise it, but he felt out of place. In Minnesota, they lived simply. Their little cottage was enough for the two of them and would probably have to be enlarged when the baby arrived, but... in the main room alone, at least three cottages could fit. The luxury was unheard of: the pool was both indoors and outdoors, there were lounges to suit all tastes...

He had seen on their website that their suite also included every comfort: gym, spa, private cinema... and all they had to do was snap their fingers to be served with any of their requests... even the most questionable. Money really did make the world go round, especially here. Lena was dragging him around the suite. At one point he stopped in front of a mirrored wall and saw himself, dressed in an expensive suit that cost more than four months of his parents' salary, shoes, jewellery... Lena retraced her steps to stand next to her brother.

"Lena and Galen are very handsome."

"Don't you think it's... too much?"

She put her hair back in place out of coquetry before looking away. "It's the game. Lena is a princess because Lena helps the Wolves. It's a bit pretend but also a bit real. Lena wants to be a princess for real, even for a little while. To do things that Galen and Lena have never done and will never do again. To be Princes and Princesses who aren't Lena and Galen. For fake for real."
