"Galen has disappeared" This simple sentence almost stunned the Ulfark. Colin had the reflex to snatch the phone out of his hand before he crushed it in his fist. The first thing Morgan did was to dive in, looking for their link. The link was there but it was muffled. Colin was talking to Eric on the phone, but Morgan couldn't hear him. He rushed towards the Chiron. Colin had just had time to run after him and shout to Coyote that they were meeting at the Piranha when the engine roared to life. The car started up in a cloud of dust, even though the passenger door hadn't yet been closed. Morgan's hands gripped the leather steering wheel so tightly that it cracked, and the car sped off, even in the middle of town.

"I can hardly feel it, Colin."

"Slow down, Morgan. Driving us into a wall isn't going to help. He's alive and he's okay, all right? We're gonna find him."

"Why didn't I feel him disappear?"

"Because he's not in any immediate danger." Colin said as he squeezed Morgan's wrist, "Eric and Lena are joining us. We'll see, maybe Lena will find him thanks to their link... Slow down, man."

The Chiron parked in front of the Piranha. It was four o'clock in the morning and, exceptionally, the bouncers had been told to get everyone out. The music was turned off, the spotlights too, and the harsh light from the ceiling lamps lit up the room. The floor was sticky with spilt alcohol, confetti and other dirt. Nicholas had gathered all the staff together, about twenty people. Several of the divas were still in bathrobes and half-make-up, while most of the waiters had changed out of their briefs into jogging suits or other more conventional clothes. Nicholas was talking to them as Morgan and Colin came striding in. Eric and Lena were there, their faces serious. Juliet reached out to touch her brother. Nicholas nodded and continued. "We're waiting for Coyote, who shouldn't be long. A little more patience."

One of the Divas tightened her dressing gown.

"Coyote? but I thought he'd been banned from here since the last time."

"I know, but it's a question of force majeure. Willy went to get the surveillance footage from the outside cameras." Nicholas replied.

Coyote arrived alone. "OK, what's going on?"

"My Mate has disappeared." Morgan growled.

"What's that got to do with me?" Coyote asked as he shrugged his shoulders.

Nicholas rubbed his forehead.

"Don't make a bigger fool of yourself than you are, Coyote." Nicholas said as he rubbed his forehead, "Your wolves have disappeared, Thomas has disappeared now the kid's disappeared, don't you think that's a lot to disappear? Oh, should I also mention how many wolf corpses have been found in the last year? So maybe it's got nothing to do with that, or maybe it's the same thing, but in the meantime, we've got a lead."

The first Diva clutched her throat in a position of tragedy. "Any disappearances tonight? Wouldn't it be more sensible to call the police?"

"The police won't do anything." A waiter with his arms crossed answered, "We're talking about Wolves. That's even less important than prostitutes and the homeless."

Morgan howled. It was the howl of a wolf with a human throat. It was hoarse and dry. His eyes were blue and he was holding back, as best he could, the Beast inside him. His voice was too breathless and hoarse. "Shut up! All of you, shut up! Now, we're going to keep this simple. The quicker and clearer you answer the questions, the better your chances of getting away with it."

"No need to scare them." Juliet said with a roll of her eyes.

Morgan growled dangerously at her sister. Juliet's eyes lit up, Eric's, Lena's, Colin's... Willy's and Coyote's. The humans shuddered and fear spread through them. Eric took charge.
