Silence was their ally. They decided to neutralise every last one of them. They started at one end and worked their way up towards the main warehouse where Lena and Morgan had picked up Galen's scent.

Lena remained in her wolf form, wandering between crates and vehicles. Her paws made no noise on the asphalt floor. Morgan took the flank and Colin preferred the higher ground. It had been decided with Eric, much to Morgan's dismay, to keep death and damage to an absolute minimum. The first man was quietly asphyxiated by Morgan. Colin knocked out the second, who collapsed against the wall. Lena tackled a third man to the ground, his skull hitting the asphalt.

What followed was more complicated, as one of the men let out a short scream as Morgan hit him. This alerted the others. The men were organised and working as a team, but it wasn't enough to stop the Wolves. At last Morgan and Lena's frustration had been satisfied. They followed the exchanges via the earpieces with their acute hearing.

"At least two intruders to the north. Bob's down. Code red."

"Roger. Moving into position with Dave.

"East side clear."

"Ben and Chris are out. I... Oh fuck!"

Gunfire erupted as Lena jumped left and right to dodge the bullets, she charged at the gunman who could only scream before taking a 200 kg sledgehammer. The Wolf's teeth sank into his shoulder and a wet crack sounded as she dislocated the gunman's shoulder. Blood filled her mouth with satisfaction, and she howled at the half-full moon. Voices crackled through the transmitters.

"Wolves! Warn the boss! I need to..."

There was a loud crash as Colin slammed the guy into one of the warehouse walls hard enough to break through the metal.

"I've got a visual on aisle 3".

A burst of bullets rattled through the narrow corridors and the smell of gunpowder spread.

"I've shot the bastard! No...no...NO!"

The seventh man's last sentence ended in a howl of pain as Morgan drove his claw-like hand into his chest, piercing his lungs and heart. The last three men found themselves cornered at the entrance to the warehouses as Colin, Morgan and Lena advanced on them. Bullets flew but none hit. They were knocked unconscious. Calm returned. Lena regained her human form and Colin helped her to her feet. She rubbed her belly and smiled.

"Lena's babies loved it! Didn't they, newts?"

"They're not newts any more, Lena."

She wrinkled her nose at being contradicted but let it pass. She moved towards the door of the warehouse.

"I smell Galen. Lena very good at finding things."

The warehouse door was reinforced. A faint smell of silver wafted around the warehouse. Colin frowned.

"It'll be worse inside. Morgan help me."

The two of them forced the door open. It resisted for about ten minutes but finally gave in. Morgan pulled Lena as she tried to enter. He took her by the shoulders.

"Stay outside. I don't want the silver to hurt the babies."

"Lou protects them!"

"Stay outside." Morgan growled, "I don't want to take any risks, you understand?"

Lena puffed up her cheeks but agreed. Morgan and Colin entered the warehouse. While Colin checked the crates, Morgan followed Galen's trail backwards to a trapdoor in the floor.
