The next day we went to the store to purchase paint for the house. For the living room we chose an aqua blue color, for my bedroom I chose purple, and for my mother yellow. The colors are a little odd to put in a house but who cares we wanted it to be bright and happy, and not dark and depressing like the old house. Also, when we were there we purchased a new couch and they were going to ship it to the house sometime in the next week. Other than that we didn't do much until it was time to visit the Fredericks' and have dinner with them.
At 6 p.m. we began walking over to their house since it was so close. The scenery was beautiful everything was bright green, and there was many animals grazing on the field. After walking for about 4 minutes we arrived at the door of an older looking farm house. My mother knocked on the door and a few seconds Kirsten arrived at the door.
"Welcome! Please come in." She said.
"Okay thank you for inviting us over." My mom replied.
We walked through the door and I was struck with the delicious scent of hamburgers and homemade mashed potatoes. I haven't had a home cooked meal since before my dad became an alcoholic. Kirsten led us to the table in which there were 4 people seated. Kirsten introduced them to us.
"This is Carl my husband." Carl got up from where he was sitting and shook our hands. She continued "That's Skyler the oldest, and then there is Aric, and finally the youngest Sawyer."
I couldn't help notice how Aric and Sawyer looked so much alike. The only thing that was majorly different about them was that Aric had short hair and Sawyer had long golden hair. Dang I wish I had his hair its perfect.
Shortly after the introductions Kirsten came with food for us all, and let me just say that was the greatest food I have ever ate in my life! I am not even kidding. The one thing that was kind of odd was that besides Carl, and Kirsten the whole family was kind of quiet. I guess they must just be really shy. Kirsten kept asking us all these questions until a certain one came up.
Kirsten said "So why did you move to Fultonville?" My mom looked at me and I nodded to say that she could tell her about my father. She seemed trustworthy enough.
My mother replied "Well we moved here to get away from my husband. Over the last few years he has been an alcoholic, he was spending all of our money. So a few weeks back Ally and I decided that we had enough of his crap. He would be so drunk he would destroy the house, and sometimes if we got in his way than he would attack us. So I went online and purchased this home, and a few days ago we got in the car and drove until we arrived here."
"Oh my gosh I am so sorry!" Kirsten said as she got up and hugged us.
A few seconds later I heard someone get up from their seat. "Excuse me." I looked up to see Sawyer grabbing a guitar, opening the door and walking outside.
Sawyers POV
When I heard their story about how Ally's dad left I got a perfect idea for a song. I already had the chorus in my head. I quickly got up from the table said excuse me, grabbed my guitar and went outside. I started to strum my guitar and sing along with it. After a few minutes of thinking I had the whole song sorted out. I started to sing the song until I heard someone walking out of the house. I looked up to see it was Ally.
She sat next to me and asked "What are you singing?"
Trying not to be awkward I replied "A song I just wrote."
"Cool can I hear it?" She asked.
"Sure." I said than I began to sing the song.
(Afraid by Sawyer Fredericks)
You woke up and
No one was around and
Wondering if he just went on with his day
But you panicked and
Thought he was leaving
You never thought he'd do such things
So you went downstairs
Went down screaming
You were hoping to see his face
Nothing but tread marks
From his leaving, you're
Wondering if you'll see him again
Thought he loved you
He never loved you
You will never be the same
You will always be
Afraid
You went inside
Hoping to see him
Disappointed
Again
Hands are shaking
Your heart is breaking
You know he's not
Coming back
Thought he loved you
He never loved you
You will never be the same
You will always be
AfraidBy the end of the song Ally was in tears.
And then she asked "Was that song about my family."
Embarrassed I looked down trying not to make eye contact with her. I replied "Yeah, when I heard you guys talking about him, I got a perfect idea for a song. So I went out here to write it.
Ally's POV
When Sawyer sang that song it was creepily accurate. Ever lyric had a connection to my life. By the end of the song I was in tears the song was amazing. I asked him if he wrote that song about my family and he said he did. I just can't believe that after hearing only a little bit of information about my father he wrote that whole song. I got up and gave him a hug and told him that the song was beautiful. After that we talked for what seemed like hours. We talked about Ray Lamontagne which happens to be his favorite singer too. Also, we talked about the guitar in which I happen to play too. He pretty much likes all the stuff I like which is kind of odd. I think this is a start to a great friendship.....
