It was the feeling of his soft lips planting small kisses over your cheeks, down the side of your neck and up to your exposed shoulder paired with the tickling sensation of his hot breath on your skin that gently woke you up from your sleep.
You rolled over onto your back and slowly opened your eyes to see none other than your boyfriend lying next to you propped up on one elbow, wearing only his pajama pants.

"Nigel? You're here? I thought you would be gone for another few days?"
You mumbled with your groggy morning voice as you rubbed one of your eyes.

"Good morning to you too."
Nigel chuckled and watched you as you tried to stifle a yawn.

"Sorry."
You murmured and shuffled closer to him.

He wrapped his arm around you, pulling you into him before he leaned down and your lips met in a tender kiss.
Oh how you missed his kisses and his touch.

Lately he has been off "doing business" - as he called it - a lot and you would be left at home on your own, sometimes for days on end.

You reached up to cup his cheek and let your thumb trace over his sharp cheekbones while he gently moved his lips against yours.

"I have a surprise for you, Dragă."
He whispered against your lips and pulled away.
"Wait here."
He got out of bed and placed one final kiss to your temple before he exited the bedroom.

You lied back down on your back and closed your eyes for another few minutes.
You heard some noise coming from the kitchen and soon you heard his footsteps approaching. You opened your eyes and couldn't help but let out a breathy laugh.

"You're bringing me breakfast in bed?"
You giggled and Nigel smiled as he walked over to your side of the bed.

You sat up against the headrest and he placed the tray on your lap.
There were three slices of toasted bread with cold cuts and cheese, a bowl with cereals and berries and a glass of milk next to it as well as a mug with steaming hot coffee and a cup filled with orange juice.
However, what caught your eye first was the small eggshell colored envelope on the side with a red ribbon wrapped around and your name written in neat handwriting on it.

"What's this?"
You asked as you grabbed the milk to pour it into the cereals.

"You'll have to find out. Go on, you can open it."
Nigel nudged you as he reached for a piece of bread and placed two slices of cheese on top of it.

You were chewing on a spoonful of muesli as you picked up the envelope and carefully opened it.
Inside it contained a letter.

"Dear Y/n,

Happy Valentine's Day my love!
I know I haven't been much around lately and I'm very sorry about that.
Let me make it up to you.
Today, I have a special surprise planned just for the two of us.
I won't tell you where we are going, but here's a little clue:

Upon arrival, eyes aglow,
Nature's beauty in full show.
An oasis of love and grace,
Our private haven, our secret place.
