A/N: I'm alive! Sorry for not updating in such a long time, I've been a bit busy and got distracted (y'all can thank my man for that)

Anyway in honor of my birthday coming up next week here's a little birthday-themed oneshot (which was originally meant to be uploaded at the time of my last birthday, whoops)

Enjoy!

"My sweet one, let me prepare breakfast." Hannibal mumbled into your ear as he came up from behind, pulling you against him and you leaned into the soft fabric of his maroon sweater.

"But I want to make it for you. It's your birthday after all!"
You pouted and set the ingredients you just gathered down on the counter.

"I know something else you could do for my birthday instead."
He whispered and began to kiss along the side of your neck.

You mewled into his touch but tore yourself out of it after a few seconds, reluctant to give in.

"You never let me cook for you, come on Han."
You said as you retrieved two bowls to mix the batter for the pancakes in.

You took an egg and cracked it into the smaller bowl along with half the eggshell.

"Whoops."
You snickered and began to fish out the eggshell while Hannibal watched you.

After you managed to get it out and cracked another egg inside - this time without any eggshell - you turned around to face your husband with a proud expression on your face.

"Even a 9 year old could have done that."

You glared at him before you turned back and measured the flour. Once you got the right amount you poured it into the bigger bowl but not without spilling about a fifth of it over the counter.

Hannibal groaned as he went to get a towel and you had to hold back a laugh.

"At least let me help you." He begged as he wiped away the flour but you shook your head.

"Just trust me! I know what I'm doing."

It was dead silent when Hannibal let the empty fire extinguisher drop to the ground.

"How did you even manage to set the pan on fire?"
He mumbled absently as he gazed around his kitchen which looked like a battle field.

There was foam from the fire extinguisher all over and pancake batter was sticking on the stove, the side of the cabinets below as well as on the floor.

"I don't know how that happened."
You muttered and felt your cheeks redden from embarrassment.

"Just...go and take a shower. You have some batter stuck in your hair. And on your face. And your clothes."
He reached out a hand and flicked his finger over the tip of your nose to collect some of the batter that was splattered there.

"What about this mess?"
You looked around and Hannibal sighed.

"I'll clean up the kitchen while you go and clean up yourself. And then I will make us some breakfast. Now go."
He shooed you out of his kitchen and you went upstairs to take a shower.

It took half an eternity to get rid of the batter in your hair and once you finally did and stepped out of the bathroom the house was already smelling like heaven.
