Kylie
I took a deep breath and tried hard not to scream and shout. Why? Because that stupid Malfoy had spilled a huge amount of ink on the transfer paper I had been trying to write on for half an hour. And now he was standing there like an innocent child waiting for me to scold him. It was so sweet of him to just stand there and stare into my eyes. "You did it again." Draco looked into my eyes for a few seconds. Then he bowed his head sadly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that." This made me even angrier and I couldn't hold my tongue. "Of course you didn't mean to do it. Our lives depend on this paper, but you ruined it because you like being clumsy too much. Try to be a little more helpful." My angry words in a low voice calmed me down. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, which helped me clear my head a little.
I took a step closer to Draco and hugged him gently. "Okay. I apologize, Draco. I'm so nervous and ready to explode at any moment. I'm just so pissed off at how you acted all of a sudden. I'm so sorry." He wrapped his arms tightly around me and rested his chin on my head. "It's okay, sweetheart. You and your nervousness are inseparable. But it's still taking a toll on you and your mental health. You need to relax a bit." I took a step backwards, and as I nodded to let her know she was right, I glanced around. Besides us, there was Tom and a few Ravenclaw students. We had to get a new parchment without attracting their attention - especially Tom's.
As we moved to the pile of parchment, a group of Slytherin students entered. The whole library was staring at them because they were so noisy. They ignored these stares and approached Tom's table just as noisily and sat down opposite him. Tom sent them a cold look and mumbled a few words. We couldn't hear him at this distance, but we understood that he was telling them to shut up. They began to discuss something in silence. Meanwhile one of the girls began to touch Tom's arm gently. As if annoyed, he pushed her away and slid to the side.
And he didn't seem to care at all. I picked up a piece of parchment. When I returned to the table, I saw that Draco had taken ink. I started to rewrite the transfer paper. I dipped the quill into the ink and started writing. Just then I felt a look on me. I turned around and realized that the girl who had touched Tom was now looking at Draco with her eyes. The group from earlier was chatting amongst themselves. Tom was nowhere to be seen. He had probably gone to get ready because he was the student on duty. The girl started looking at me after Draco. After a few seconds she stood up and approached our table. (OMG, I AM SHOCKED) As she got closer and closer, Draco looked at me as if begging for help. I gave her a small look and gave Draco a look that told him I couldn't help her.
The girl started chatting with Draco. "Hello, do you need help?" She didn't care when Draco said, "Thanks, we'll handle it ourselves." "I'm Lena Parkinson. I haven't seen you at school before." The fact that she ignored me and asked Draco directly made me angry. Draco looked worried. Realizing that he could not respond normally, I spoke calmly. "We are transfer students." The girl's gaze turned to me and lingered on me for a moment. I returned her gaze and waited for her to look away. She looked away from me and continued her conversation with Draco. Their conversation above my head was distracting me. I tried to focus on the writing. Should I take out my wand and stick it in her nose or spill the ink down his shirt? Which was a better option? I wonder what Berry would do? She would definitely use her poisonous tongue and put the girl in her place.
"I honestly don't understand why you don't have a girlfriend despite being so handsome." What the girl said made me even more angry. "Who said he doesn't, sweet girl. You've been talking to my boyfriend in front of me for minutes and I'm not reacting. Now please get out of my sight or I won't hesitate to tear you to pieces." Her eyes widened at what I said and she walked away from us. I turned to Draco and gave him a sweet I didn't do anything look. Draco smiled and asked. "Playing games like that reminds me that you're a Black." I looked at him playfully. "What, you forget I'm a Black? Oh Draco how could you do this to me." Draco laughed a low laugh. I savored the moment.
After an hour of chatting, I had finished writing the letter and all that remained was to wait for Berry. We slowly left the library and walked through the corridors to the dungeons. I wonder how she is now? I felt a twinge of anxiety and realized that we were going to spend the night without sleep.
---------------------------------------------
Lena Parkinson is completely fictional.
There was no Parkinson's at that time, but I had to add a new character to the story line. Next chapter we'll read what happens to Berry, so I'm excited about that.
