It was a sunny day, when this all happened. Aziraphale got a call saying that he had to return to heaven. Once in heaven it was explained to him that he needed to become a guardian angel and was told he would stay on earth and that he would be the guardian angel of a human being called Donna Noble and that she would be living in Chiswick. After it got explained to him, Aziraphale agreed to become a guardian angel.
After Aziraphale had agreed he went back to his book shop and told Crowley the news, Crowley was happy for his husband but also knew he wouldn't be around much for the book shop or him to make love with and Crowley didn't want to be alone so he followed Aziraphale and Aziraphale knew he wouldn't be able to convince Crowley to stay and look after the book shop and decided to make him a guardian of Donna Noble along with himself.
