"Hey, you remember that tile in the kitchen we said we were going to fix but never did because that stupid repair guy didn't show up? Yeah, well I just sliced my big toe open on that and now there's kind of... blood on the floor. I looked for the bandages in the bathroom and the kitchen and I couldn't find them. I can't remember where I put them after that other accident. I remember the accident I just don't remember where the kit is, I'm sort of freaking out and- woah! I don't think that's my toe anymore-" she babbled, spilling too many words onto Connor's overfilled plate. He tried to make out the important information but her voice was bleeding through his ears, disturbing his already busy conscious.
"I've got too much work as it is (Y/N)! Do you think I really have time for your little mishap?" He snapped over her disruptive comments. Straight away, her voice ceased and she mumbled something inaudible after a few stone-cold seconds. Silence answered Connor's question. "The first aid kit is under the recliner, where you left it two weeks ago." He revealed the position of the bandages and her only reply was,
"Okay." With that, she hung up on him. No goodbye, no verbal appreciation, nothing. The extra pressure had dissipated but his stress levels remained high at 85%. He had a bad feeling that he had screwed something up with the woman of the house and that wasn't what he wanted at the time. Connor's eyes stared at the computer screen, back at all the windows he had open. It was time to report to duty.
