"Hi!" I say as I knock on the door.
Jihye looks up from her computer and glares. "What are you doing here?"
I smile and sit down in the examining chair. "I'm here to get my eyes checked."
She scowls. "I'm not checking your eyes."
I smirk. "Why? Afraid you'll fall for me?"
Jihye looks away and grabs a flashlight. She walks back to me and brings her face really close. I don't move away but I feel everything in me heat up at her closeness.
"Keep your eyes open and focus on me," she says calmly and I listen to her.
I never blink and keep my gaze on her as she shines the light in my eyes.
She moves away and says with a small smile, "I think I'm afraid you might fall for me rather than the other way around."
I think so too.

"We will now be landing in Melbourne, Australia!"
I run my eyes and lean away from the wall of the plane. I sigh and sit back, leaning my head back on the headrest.
I don't know what sort of spell Jihye put on me but I'm definitely never forgetting her.
I thought diving myself into work would be a good idea but I guess every case I see just reminds of how much injustice Jihye faced that she was pushed to do what she did.
Jisoo. This vacation was made so that you would forget Jihye. Not to think about her.
I blow out a breath and close my eyes
....until the plane start diving for the ground.
I shoot my eyes open and people are screaming.
"Hello folks! It seems the plane has *scream* caught a bit of turbulence!"
YOU THINK?!
I clutch the arm rests of the seat for dear life as the plane bumps and falls to the ground.
I squeeze my eyes closed and then I get jostled around as the plane touches the ground and moves down the runway.
When the plane finally stops, I open my eyes with panting breaths and my heart still racing from fear.
"Welcome....to Melbourne! Where all of your vacation dreams come true!"
If this is how my vacation starts, then I don't have much hopes in how it will end.

I go to the hotel I booked and the receptionist blushes as soon as she sees me.
"Oh! Umm...Hi!" She says.
I just nod. "I booked a suite. My name is Jisoo Kim."
She cheeks keep getting redder as she searches the computer for my name. She grabs a pen and notepad before printing a room keycard. She writes something on the note and pastes it to the keycard.
She hands it to me and I see that it's a phone number. I sigh and take it off. I hand it back to her. "I'm sorry. I'm not interested in dating...." I look at her name tag "Veronica."
She nods a little sad. "It was worth a shot."
I give her a polite smile and take the keycard. "Have a nice day."
She smiles again and nods.
I turn towards the elevator and a dark haired woman follows me with her gaze but I want to leave for the sanctuary of my hotel room so I leave quickly.

I am actually so bored.
I have never taken a vacation in about 10 years.
I mean, what was the point? I got to work with my best friend. I got laid often and my job wasn't super stressful. I had the perfect life.
Until—NOPE! STEEEEER CLEAR JISOO!
I take a quick shower and sit in the bed with my back to the headboard and turn on the TV.
"In a shocking turn of events, the daughter of Billionaire Richard Killian has met an untimely death. Police suspect suicide. A hearing of his will has been read and he has left everything to his 30 year old—"
I change the channel. Who cares about some rich guy and his death? I will admit that the hearing of his will sounds interesting but I'm trying to relax. I don't need to hear about that.
I end up putting on National Geographic. It's the starting of something but I couldn't catch the name.
They start with showing wildlife and the ocean. The birds and tress. The fish swimming peacefully in the water...
Until it's chomped up by a shark!
I scream loudly and watch in horror as the scenes I watch slowly descend into madness. Predator eating prey and humans killing the forest.
I scramble for the remote and switch it off.
Then I pull my knees to my chest, completely traumatized.
I really need to learn how to relax.

In the afternoon...Sometimes I don't feel 39 and other times I really feel it.
For example, I'm a fit woman with a set of hard abs to prove it....but my back has this weird pinch when I bend down to pick up my swimsuit from the ground and I have to sigh when I stand up fully.
But my age hasn't stopped me from pulling women.
Maybe I'll say yes to the lovely Veronica.
I pull on a t-shirt and shorts over my bikini and grab a towel. I walk out with a pool bag in one hand and see that Veronica is not in the reception area.
Damn. I'm losing my mojo in getting girls.
The beach isn't that far from the hotel, which I'm thankful for and it isn't very crowded.
I place the towel on the sand under the hot sun and grab my sunglasses out of my pool bag. I put my hands under my head and lie down with a smile.
It's not even 10 minutes later when I hear, "Jisoo!"
I sit up with tensely because I know nobody in Australia.
A woman with dark black hair runs to stand in front of me and I pull my sunglasses off. They aren't helping with the glare from the sun. I use my hand to cover my eyes.
What. The. Fucking. Fuck?!
Standing in front of me is none other than the love of my life that I buried.
