//"JISOO! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"

Soojoo decided to call me bright and early at around 1 in the morning.

I rub my eyes. "What happened?"

//"DID YOU JUST ABANDON US?!"

"Soojoo. It's too early for this."

//"JISOO! YOU ARE THE HEAD OF THE SPECIAL FORCES! IT'S BEEN 4 WEEKS! WHERE! ARE! YOU?!"

"Australia."

//"AUSTRA—WHAT?! DID TOU HAVE A MID-LIFE CRISIS OR SOMETHING?!"

"I had an 'or something'! If you need to complain, yell at Lisa!"

//"OH! I DID! DON'T WORRY! SHE HEARD AN EARFUL! SHE SENT YOU ON VACATION! NOBODY IN THE WORLD TAKES 4 WEEK VACATIONS! YOU NEED TO COME BACK RIGHT NOW!"

"No. I'm dealing with something here. Someone hired me to find out who's trying to kill them."

//"...."

"Hello?"

//"Do you want to be the head of the organization or not?"

I rub my face. "I never asked for the position. They fired Lisa and then gave it to me. I never asked or wanted the responsibility."

//"So you are abandoning us? I have been the temporary head for these weeks and everyone is asking for when you're going to come back!"

"Not right now. I can't come back right now."

I hear Soojoo sigh. //"How much longer do you need?"

"2 more weeks. Then I'll come back."

//"Fine. That's all I'm giving you."

She hangs up and I sigh again.

I leave the quietness of the bathroom and go back to bed, where Jennie is still peacefully sleeping.

I move her hair off her face and I pull her closer so that she rests on my shoulder and my arm is around her.

I've been hugging her after she falls asleep lately because it makes me fall asleep faster.

I move her arm over me and pull her closer. I turn onto my side and rest my chin on top of her head.

I close my eyes and the sweet lullaby of her steady breathing puts me to sleep. Warmth envelops me.

I'm so scared of this feeling.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

I jump out of bed and raise my fists, completely ready to fight.

Instead, I see Jennie jumping up and down with a pretty woman with long brown hair, who's smiling widely.

"JENNIE!" I shout. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE DYING!"

The woman looks at me and then Jennie and then me and the back to Jennie.

"You date women now?" She asks with shock.

Jennie shakes her head but I slip an arm around her waist and hold a hand to the brown-haired woman. "Hi. I'm Jisoo."

Jennie stares at me. "Jisoo—"

I give her a look and she rolls her eyes. The woman hesitantly holds my hand. "Hi. I'm Irene. Nice to meet you."

I give my best charming smile. "The pleasure's all mine."

Irene smiles back and lets go of my hand. She looks at Jennie. "I'll be downstairs whenever you're ready."
