hey, honey
won't you come sit by the fire with me?
don't you see how the flames thrash angrily?
look into the burning red coals
smell the haunting black smoke
and maybe,
there is a chance,
you spot a glimpse
of my soul's yearning dancebrindled fur and melancholy brown eyes
do you see my beloved, my dog, my life?
run your hand over her rough coat
every hair is as a diamond to a fine throat
yet your fleshy brain does not light up
your nerves, your skin, your heart doesn't burn
at the sight so precious to me
the one I covet as a slice of heaven
the one...words are inadequate to express my longing
or to enumerate my love
but still I try,
try, try, try
strain to push that boulder up the hill
and watch it roll to the ground
I will step forward and walk back down
and perhaps there is virtue in that
meaning enough to satisfy me.—————————
inspiration:
I finished reading the myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus! I still need to read the appendix about Kafka but yeah it was a really hard but rewarding read. :)
