50. What if..

"You okay?" Evan asked Yu who kept looking at the emergency room. He looks tense, but compared to the last time Evan saw Yu in the hospital that day, Yu looks rather calmer now.

"Um." Yu replied softly but who's to be fooled, he couldn't even breathe normally.

Sam is inside the emergency room, with Tian. Yu thought that he will be fine being in the hospital, but once they got here, Yu couldn't step inside the emergency room.

He was fine when he was hospitalized here last time. He stayed in the room all the time but he had no problem while he was getting out.

But now, even when Yu knew that Sam needs him, he just can't. And he feels really bad about it.

What if his wound got infected? What if it got worse? What if Sam got worse? These questions kept replaying on his head, over and over.

"You wanna hold my hand?" Evan asked quietly.

Yu kept squeezing on his hands since a while ago, but then Evan grabbed on his hands even before Yu said yes, but he's glad that Evan didn't wait for his answer.

"What if Richard sees us?" Yu then asked suddenly.

Evan chuckled softly, how could he make a joke right now.

"Richard is a nice guy, he will understand."

Yu kept staring at their hands, "Sam is not. He will get angry whatever the reason is."

Evan tilted his head a little, "Is that a joke?"

Yu shook his head, "No." He said, but he tightened his hands on Evan.

"Umm Yu, then you should let go of my hand.." Evan said quietly.

Yu chuckled softly. He's in the edge of crying, but talking about something else make him feel a little better.

Evan kept looking at Yu and the guilty comes back to him once again.

"I'm really sorry, Yu." Evan said suddenly.

"You've said it enough."

"No. It will never be enough.." Evan said then he hold Yu's hands with his other hand. "That day, the day you went to that place."

Yu turned his head to look at Evan, he knew what day and what place was Evan talked about. That's not really a pleasant memory, and Yu doesn't really like to talk about it, but seems like Evan still want to talk.

"I saw you and I knew that something was wrong. That's why I told Mr. Sam about it. I was about to help but.. I was a coward, I was too afraid that if you or Mr. Sam would catch me so I hid. I kept hiding, then Mr. Sam came, I didn't really know what happen back then, but then the cops come, and Mr. Tian with the ambulance, and you and Mr. Sam came out.. I.." Evan started to cry. "I'm really sorry, Yu.." Evan cried more and put his head on Yu's hands, deeply feeling sorry for what happened and for being such a coward.

"It wasn't your fault." Is the only thing that Yu can say.

Why would Evan feeling sorry for him, he wasn't the one who did it after all.

"No.. actually you did a good job, Evan." Yu then said softly.

Evan stops his cries and looked at Yu whose smiling at him.

"Thank you for telling Sam. Thank you.. really." Yu said sincerely.

Evan just kept staring at Yu, he looks like an angel in Evan's eyes.

"Even though Sam got stabbed that day but still.." Yu mumbled quietly, but Evan heard it and he froze.

"Mr. Sam got stabbed?!" Evan asked loudly in surprise, right when Tian got out of the emergency room and got surprise too with Evan's loud voice.
