"(Y/N), this way," Hiro said, leading her to the docks. Bobbing in the river was a boat. He climbed in and (Y/N) followed. Mochi hopped along. Baymax stood at the dock.
"Awww, Baymax," (Y/N) said. "Wish you can come with us."
Mochi glanced at (Y/N) and Hiro and back to Baymax. Then he hopped off the boat and to Baymax. He meowed an apology to (Y/N).
"It's fine, stay there and keep him company," (Y/N) told the cat. Before rowing away, Hiro pulled something small out of his pocket. It mewed softly.
"Baymax, come here," Hiro instructed. The robot waddled towards him. Hiro lifted the small kitten and placed it on Baymax's hands. "For you."
Gently, Baymax petted it with his hands. Then he glared at Hiro. "Did you steal her?"
                                   "What?! I bought her."
Baymax's gaze didn't falter until Hiro began paddling away. He shrugged and played with Mochi and his new kitten.
"Where are we going?" (Y/N) asked Hiro.
He smiled. "Well, it's the best day of your life, so I figured you should get a decent seat."
Hiro slowly paddled out of the dock area and to the middle of the bay. He pushed the boat around so the city's mountain shape sat in front of them, the castle and the skyscrapers standing magnificently. Slowly, the lights of the city began flickering out. Boats surrounded the bay, but they were a good distance away from them. (Y/N) quietly took in the view, inhaling the air.
The sun was almost gone, and stars began sprinkling the sky.
As they waited in silence, Hiro looked at (Y/N). She has so much hope and childish wonder in her actions, she was like a rainbow itself.
(Y/N) stared at the darkening kingdom, not knowing what to expect. She was tingling with nervousness and anxiety as she waited for the first lantern. Sighing, she brushed her fingers across the cool water.
"Everything alright?" Hiro asked, not taking his eyes off of her.
                                   (Y/N) shrugged. "I-I... I don't know. I'm scared," she admitted.
Hiro's brows knit together. "Why? Weren't you excited for this?"
(Y/N) stared at the dark water, continuously dipping her fingers in it. "I've been looking out of the window my entire life, dreaming to know and see what these lanterns are... what it'll feel like when the lights rise in the sky," she paused, looking up at the clear night sky. "What if it's not everything I've dreamed it to be?"
Hiro smiled gently, looking at the lost girl in front of him. "It will be."
                                   "And what if it is?"
"Well, than that's the good part. You get to go find a new dream," he said, giving her a sideways grin. "You know what I mean?"
They shared a warm smile and resumed waiting for the lights.
The queen of San Fransokyo, adjusted the crest on her husband's chest. She couldn't meet his eyes.
Blankly, he stared down at the top of his wife's auburn hair. "Cass, what if we never mind her?" he whispered.
Queen Cass blinked back tears. "Well then, we just have to hope for the best for her." Her voice cracked and her throat constricted. "As long as she's happy, wherever she is." Glancing up, she noticed his eyes. They were filled with sadness, slowly losing hope. Her hands moved up to his face, caressing his cheek. Nuzzling in her touch, his eyes fluttered to look at her. She put on a weak smile for him. His eyes were rimmed with tears. She brushed it away with her thumb.
