Versus

Chapter 15

I sat at my desk messing with video and audio files as the people came and left the office. I did not really pay much attention to anyone else. As I played back some of the video I found my self falling in love Michael all over again. It seemed no matter how many times I reminded my self of what he had done to me and how I felt, I still wanted to hug him. I knew my feelings were wrong but I couldn't help myself. My train of thought crashed.

"Are you okay?" the voice came from behind me. I spun around in my chair and smiled at my brother pretending like everything in my head was okay. 

"Of course, why would anything be?" the last part came out a little more shaky then what I wanted.

"I was just wondering," he took a seat at his desk and began to play a game. 

"Hey.."

"Wot?"

"Can I join you, for old times sake"

"Sure, we should probably record it right?"

"Definitely the fandom will probably eat it up," we laugh and Gav sets up everything while I grab the mic off of Michael's desk.

"You sure you want to use that?" Gav asked me, I knew his pop filter was absolutely disgusting.

"Well not really but," I popped off his pop filter and replaced it with my own. Gavin laughed as I really did not want to touch it. I set it gently on his desk for him to deal with later and got into the game. 

"I think the job is done here," I say as we finish a heist we made up successfully.

"I agree now hand over my cut," Gavin said this in the friendliest way possible but i think my response said everything. I pulled out my pistol and shot him several times before he could even move or say anything.

"Okay I think my work here is done I am gonna run before Gavin actually kills me," I laugh and jump out of my chair my brother close behind me. Ryan and Liz both stand up with phones in hand ready to record everything. I darted out of the office and began to run around the kitchen area with my brother hot on my tail. Finally I went to last resort and ran out of the building. The sun blinded me at first but I kept running weaving through cars making it impossible for Gavin to find me. Well that's what I thought. When he caught me he threw me over his shoulder and walked back inside. I found out at a young age there really is no point in fighting back because he always won. He threw me onto the couch and just laughed at me. He took their phones and started to upload the files and put them all together. So I began to finish my work. 

He walked in. What was I supposed to do. All you need to do is act cool. He is not here it is just your head messing with you. 

"I love you too," these four words are what I wanted to hear...days ago. 

"You are a little late," I did not even bother to turn around. I replayed the night over and over in my head. 

"Okay fine I will see you tomorrow then" 

 "Alright" you could hear the change in his voice as he pulled the phone away. 

 "I love you" my whispers were never heard by his end of the line. They were cut off by a red button and a dead line. It wasn't much of a problem to me I said it to late.

I realized I was not the one who said it to late, it was him.

"Candace I am so sorry I promise I will make it up to you...I will change...Lindsay is gone..please," his voice sounded like it was a china plate and someone just threw it to the floor. It cracked. He cracked. 

"No get away from me!" I knew I was kind of being rude, but I did not care anymore. He hurt me. 

"Candace...please," he spun my chair around so I was forced to face him. He had tears in his eyes. He looked so frail and so broken and I wanted to pick up the pieces. 

"Michael you hurt me. I gave you a piece of me and you did nothing with it and then I come in the next day and you have your mouth all over another girl. I don't get it ?"

"I am so sorry and nothing with her meant anything," instead of getting glue I took a sledge hammer to the remaining pieces.

"What do expect me to forgive you and then completely forget everything you did to me?" my voice increased with every word I spoke and it felt good. I was done just taking it. I was going to give it too.

"No....but..I just-"

"What did you just? I am done with this conversation and I am done with you," with that I stepped around him and walked into the bathroom. 

Everything kind of just hit me like a train. My breath became shaky and my heart beat was unsteady. I could not believe I yelled at someone.

"Hey are you okay?" Liz said she was out in the hall and only cracked the bathroom door. 

"No," I barley managed to get it out without breaking into more tears.

"I am coming in there," she opened the door the rest of the way and slipped in. She engulfed me into a hug and told me everything was going to be okay.

Hey I feel like I say this a lot but I am so sorry I have not updated in 2 months. I really don't have a excuse but I am going to Colorado next week and I have a 14 hour car ride there and back  so I will try to write some. No promises because I get car sick pretty bad, but I promise I will try! I am also going to try to write some parts just in case I can't. so I can update more. I just was not feeling my of my ideas. I hope you understand. As always comments and suggestions are much appreciated because I love talking to you guys!
