I woke up and looked at my phone 8:30 on the dot. It took me a full minute before realising that today was Christmas. I looked at my phone once more after the notification rang out that I had a text.
From Michael:
Merry Christmas! Maybe I can see you later?
To Michael:
We will have to see about that one ;)
I hit send before fully realising what I had done. I put my phome back down and walked out to greet Geoff and Gavin. I took a seat as it was tradition in the Free house to open presants after breakfast. I got up a few minutes later making everyone pancakes and scrambled eggs. Once finished we all joined up into the the living room eating and laughing at the dumb Christmas program that was playing.
"Presants!" Gavin returning to his full child self. He placed his clean plate on the coffee table next to mine and Geoff's. We laughed at Gavin who turned into a 5 year old child again. He sat on the floor infront of the tree digging through the few presants.
"Geoffrey" he said handing over the presants.
"And the lovely Candace" he gave me a bunch packages. I laughed at the one on top mostly. It had a little tag on it that read
'To: Candace
From: Santa'
I opened all of my presants receiving a custom made controller razor krakens and a couple other cute little things.
"Sister we were gonna have a lads thingy at Michael's....if you want to come so your not here with Geoff"
"What's wrong with Geoff?" I questioned my brother.
"Well I just thought maybe you would like to come"
"Okay I guess because your making me" I playfully rolled my eyes. Later that day I changed into the newish Zwei shirt my brother gave me, because I was absolutely in love with him. I threw on some sweatpants because I really didn't care that much. My brother had on just a t shirt and jeans. Geoff drove us over and we walked up to Michael's apartment.
"Merry Christmas guys!" He greeted at the door. He hugged me and lead me in. I could feel the heat off my brother.
"Hey Ray" I joined him on the couch with the usual video game title screen showing. Michael and Gavin were in the kitchen already, discussing what is okay and not okay. I mean not like they were quiet in anyway shape or form.
"I don't want you touching my sister!" We hadn't even been here 5 minutes and Gav wanted to rip his head off.
"Gav, don't be so fucking controlling!" Michael faught back.
"I'm sick of your shit Michael don't touch her!"
"Hey you remember what happened last time you two did this" Ray shut them both up. He took my body that started to tremble in his arms. I regained control of my breathing. They both sat down. I was leaning on the arm of the couch with my legs in Ray's lap. Gavin was on the opposite side of him and Michael was on the floor. Gavin and Michael were playing and me and Ray sat there.
"Do you want to go on a walk, I think there is a starbucks or something aroumd the corner?" Ray whispered in my ear. I nodded and removed me feet and we both stood up. My brother looked me dead in the eye and just nodded. I took this as a 'go ahead and leave' and we did. Once we made it out the building Ray wraped his arm around my waist.
"Do you like me?" I asked, I wasn't sure of the answer...or if I wanted to hear it really.
"Well of course I like you, your a wonderful person and-"
"No Ray..do you like me"
"Candace I..."
"Ray please just tell me the truth" I stopped walking and so did he.
"Yes Candace, yes I do"
"Ray..so does Michael doesn't he"
"Really, you just asked that?"
"Yea..it was pretty stupid" we continued walking. We talked about random things untill we made it. It wasn't open. We really didn't expect it to be. Ray wanted to spend time with me. As much as I don't like to admit...I wanted to spend time with him too. The rest of the evening went by in a blur. There was drinking (which neither Ray nor I took part in) and gaming. Geoff drove me and a drunk Gavin home. I helped him into bed and put myself to bed.
"Merry Christmas Candace" I whispered to myself before drifting to sleep.
