Versus

Chapter 17

-Monday-

I awoke to a knock on my door. My brother smiled at my as he swung the door open letting light shine into the once dark room. I groaned at his sudden happiness feeling my insides contract. I rolled into the fetal position knowing that being a women has it's joys and this is not one of them. Gavin noticed my sudden discomfort and his smile changed to a frown. I hugged my knees as close as I could to the rest of my body trying desperately to make this cramp I had go away. I looked up slightly to see my brother walking back into the room with some Advil and a glass of water. I thanked him and took the pill, he left the room and I sat up slowly. I grabbed some clothes and everything I needed and walked to the bathroom. I could already feel like this week was gonna be hell.

-Friday-

I was actually so excited to see Scarlett again. I couldn't sit still or focus on my work. Gav has been making 'her time of the month jokes' all week. With every joke I hit him a little harder. The week has felt like forever and I just wanted the day to be over. I wanted to see my best friend.

"Alright guys Mine craft time" Geoff announced. I took this as a attempt to focus on something instead of staring off into space waiting for work to end. We were doing a little team scavenger hunting thing. Everyone partnered up and I got stuck with my brother. 

"Alright I am going to score keep and keep track of time. Good luck and have fun!" Geoff said as sarcastically as possible.

I has been thirty minutes and surprisingly, and mostly pure luck, me and Gav were in first. I was currently wandering hopelessly in the woods. I spotted a person and made out the name tag. 

MLP Michael

I could tell he was getting closer but I just began to walk another way. That is when I caught a glimpse of the bright yellow shorts. He hit me with his sword.

"Bloody Hell Michael!" I yelled and hit him back. I expected him to hit me again but instead he began flipping through his hot bar. He finally landed on a sign and I gave him a glance from around my brother. He looked super cute trying to focus on making the right words spell across the sign. Finally he finished and I stepped a bit closer so I could read it better. 

I am really sorry I was so dumb and I messed up pretty bad

I laughed a little bit and I turned around to make real eye contact with him. I didn't know why but I wanted to forgive him. I hated myself for feeling this way. I nodded my head and smiled at him. I could not believe I just forgave him. I was having one of biggest internal struggles. I did not want him but I felt more like I needed him. I did not want to want him. I did not want to need him but I did. 

I tried to focus back onto the game and what I was doing. I just could not believe that I let myself forgive him. What happens when Gav finds out. What do I do about Ray. 

"Candice I did I found it! We win!" Gav yelled. Everyone turned to him. We both got up and he gave high five. Then he hugged me. He squeezed me tighter then he usually did and I laughed. Then we jumped around all while Michael and Jack recorded it. We both caught our breaths, laughing as we sat down. I had no idea what to do now. We all kind of just laughed it off and finished off the video and then just talked a little bit while Kdin edited the video.

"Queenie, Gav, I will be in the car" Geoff said as he shut off his monitor and walked out the room his stuff. Gav followed right after him while I scrambled to get all my stuff. A shadow casted over me bent under my desk shoving everything in my bag. I looked up to see Michael standing there. I got up from my awkward bent over position and slung the bag over my shoulder. He gently grabbed my wrist and led me out the door.

"Hey look I just wanted to say out loud I am really sorry" Michael said when we got out of the office. I smiled at him. He blushed a little bit. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. Candace what are you doing you need to stop it I thought to myself. I quickly let go of him and made my way out to the car. 

Gavin would actually kill me if he could read my mind. I could not even put together real thoughts. I had no idea what I was doing. I liked Michael but I could not help but feel bad for Ray. I did like him. I was just so confused on what to think. 

We dropped our stuff off at Geoff's house then hung out for a little bit. It was finally time. I got in the car my leg was bouncing up and down like crazy. I couldn't help it I was so excited. As we pulled up to the airport I spotted her immediately. I practically yelled at Geoff to stop the car. When he did I jumped out of the car and ran up to her embracing her in a hug. 

"Oh my, I just got her calm yourself" she laughed at my excitement. The statement was not like so I gave her a puzzled look. Then she continued, "Just kidding, I am so excited to see you!" she smiled at me practically squeezing me. 

We threw he stuff in the back of the car and then got in the back seat. Geoff had his forehead pressed to the steering wheel. He was muttering to him self something about being invaded by the British. We all cracked up at this and he started driving. We stopped for some fast food to bring home and then completed the journey. I could not be happier in this moment. When we arrived home we all sat at the table eating and talking. Scarlett began to share even more embarrassing childhood stories. Finally we all finished and retired for the night. I was glad to have my best friend back at my side. I spilled even more details I never did over the phone and then told her about today's events. 

I could not stop thinking about that stupid Jersey boy and how much I really did love him.

~A/N~

Hey! I actually got my goal of going over 1,000 words! I am super proud of myself. I still have yet to figure exactly what direction the story is going in. I guess I will have to do that eventually.

I do not really know if you care but I dyed my hair purple today (technically yesterday because it is currently 1:20 am). Also I am going to a concert on Sunday with Sarah and I am super hype.
