New Trouble

Back at Mount Justice Amber and the team were watching the holoscreen. As of the moment shields were being put up to prevent transportation going from and to Earth.

"Activating Satellites."

Amber stood next to Jaime aka Blue Beetle as she watched the shields activate and surround the Earth.

A beep went off signaling that the shields were a success.

"Congratulations. The Zeta Shield is now operational." Superman's voice rang through the comm's congratulating their success.

From the side Amber heard La'gaan speak "Absolutely historic." La'gaan then turned to face the professor as Amber had come to learn as Beast Boy's teacher due to certain circumstances. "Professor Carr! You should have your cave schooled pupil write a term paper about this."

Beast Boy only made a silent gesture of shut up by waving his hand across his neck.

"With the Zeta Shield in place, no alien can teleport to our planet off world. Even your strange friend won't be able to travel to and from Rann without prior approval."

Amber spared a glance at La'gaan as he spoke spotting the way he had M'gann in his arms. It was still strange seeing M'gann not with Connor and with La'gaan instead. She admits that she was shocked when she found out from Connor that they had broken up and that he was the one to end it. When Amber asked why Connor went silent. As curious as she was Amber didn't bother diving into the matter. Despite that Amber could tell that Connor was still in love with M'gann and she could feel his jealousy and anger every time he saw M'gann with La'gaan.

Amber's best guess was that something happened that Connor must not have agreed with to cause the whole breakup.

Speaking of Connor, Amber spotted him walking in to join them.

"Shield's great, but it won't stop a spaceship or a boom tube." Connor said.

Connor then faced the holoscreen as he came to stand next to Amber.

Amber gave him a nod in greeting with a light smile to go with. Amber was dressed in her civvies but without her old wig and shaded sunglasses. So Amber's full identity was in view with her corn blue eyes on show and her blonde platinum hair. Amber was dressed in low heeled knee high boots with a pair of fitted pants a white crop top and a black leather jacket, as well as a matching pair of gloves.

From beside her Amber heard Jaime murmur asking what a boom tube was.

She spared a glance at the kid about to answer his question, having learned about them from Connor. But before she could she heard him whisper as his voice soon grew louder, "Not compatible with what? I swear I don't understand half of the things you say."

Amber raised an eyebrow at the kid in question. During her time here Amber was able to get to know the new members and from it she learned about Jaime's habit of seemingly talking to himself. Amber later discovered that he was talking to some sort of device that was attached to him. It was strange to say the least but then again Amber's seen stranger.

Amber then heard Malcolm or Mal say, "Feelings mutual."

Amber took notice of the way Jaime turned his head away in shame. Being the person she was, Amber gave the boy a nudge on the back. Jaime turned to look at Amber as she gave him a reassuring smile. Noticing the smile on her face Jaime couldn't help but give one back.

In all honesty Jaime liked Amber. He hasn't known her long but what he did know was that she was awfully kind to him and the others and was a very accepting person even when he was speaking to the 'parasite' on his back Amber never judged or gave him any weird looks. And Jaime was grateful for that.
