Great. It's almost as if the world knew you were miserable. Outside the clouds were gray and rain pattered harshly against the windows, wind howling like a lion. Your curtains were peered open, letting the cold of the outside radiate through the window and humidity piercing through the glass, interlacing with a scent of morning dew and roaring rain.
You let out a groan as you wrapped your blanket tightly around your shivering body as you seemed too unbothered to get up and close the curtains. The hoodie you had worn was oversized and warm...well, it wasn't technically your hoodie. In fact, it was your best friend's hoodie; they had given it to you a little bit over two months ago. On December 3rd.
You felt the smile that was pressed against your lips soon disapear as you shrugged away the memories of that day and the grumpy look overloomed your figure once again. Of course, Valentine's Day was another day you fear to spend by yourself, but it's not like you had the energy to get out of bed anyway.
Just as you felt yourself about to doze off for the second time since you've woken up -- which was barely three hours ago -- you heard a knock at your door, causing you to let out a frustrated groan. "Who is it?" you muttered. You immedietaly dug your head in your pillow, your voice getting muffled by the soft velvet material.
"It's S/n," you heard your younger sibling's voice echo from the other side of the door. "Just lettin' you know that Ran's here."
At that, you felt your head peak, lifting it up as you looked in the direction of the closed door. You bounced out of bed, walking towards your door before pushing it open, seeing S/n on the other side before pushing beside them. "Move," you responded in a semi-stern tone.
As you made your way to the front door, there you saw Ranboo with their arms crossed behind their back and a mask pressed against his face. Although their face was covered, their smile was clearly evident through the squint in his eyes, causing you to smile back.
Rain was pounding to the ground, and there stood the man whom you called your best friend; completely drenched by the droplets of the crying sky, their hair stuck to their face and damp. His chest heaved up and down as he presumably strugged to breathed through their soaked mask, the chain wrapped around their neck moving along with every movement he made. And finally, one of his hands came from around his back and they leaned down slightly to gently cup your face with their much larger hands.
A matter of factly, the sight before you was you beautiful. Your eyes darted every single features of Ranboo's face -- that were presently visible -- and you felt your face radiate in warmth and color. No longer you felt cold. No longer you felt lonely. In fact, you couldn't feel anything other than numbness and the feeling of your stomach churning. Butterflies. Your fingers tingled as you tried to move them around, desperate for the their normal feeling to return.
Ranboo's eyes were squinted gingerly as they stared down at you, their thumb rubbing softly against your porcelin skin and redden cheeks. "I got you something," he mumbled in a somewhat low and deep tone, butterflies fluttering around in your stomach from the gentleness of their words.
