She then walked into the bathroom to brush her hair and teeth. When Aubrey went downstairs Dick was around down making coffee. She walked over to him snaking her arms around him and laying her head on his back.
Dick Hmm Happy Anniversary baby.
Aubrey Happy anniversary love. God I can't believe it's been 5 years.
Dick Time flies when you're having fun.
Aubrey That ain't no lie.
Dick So what do you wanna do today.
Aubrey Well umm
Aubrey then turns Dick around to where he is now facing her. She whispers in his ear and his eyes widen with joy.
Dick Hmm I like that idea.
They both laugh then walk back upstairs for some fun time. About 2 hours later they walk back downstairs to the living room.
Dick Where do you wanna go for dinner?
Aubrey Well we haven't been to Mama'a Place in a while.
Dick That actually sounds good. Wanna take the bike?
Aubrey nods her head in approval then they sit on the couch watching movies till they got hungry. A few hours later they were getting hungry so they went to the garage and got on the bike. When they arrived at the diner they were greeted by a familiar face.
Mama Oh my god I haven't seen you guys in forever.
Aubrey It has been awhile.
Dick I think like 5 years.
Mama To long what have you guys been up to.
Aubrey Well we got married, then I graduated college. And started my job as a teacher.
Dick And I joined GCPD, and became a detective.
Mama How exciting any kids?
Dick Not yet but hopefully soon.
Mama Well congratulations are you guys going to want the usuals?
Aubrey Yes please.
Mama Okay two cheeseburgers, two fries and two chocolate shakes coming right up.
Dick Thank you.
The two talk for a little bit before getting their meals. After they finish their food they stayed seated and talked.
Aubrey So what are you doing after work tomorrow.
Dick said quietly I have to the Watch tower
Aubrey Oh okay well while you're doing that I'll probably go on patrol.
Dick Not by yourself.
Aubrey Why not
Dick Because I don't want you to go by yourself.
Aubrey Dick I will be okay.
Dick I said no Aubrey
Aubrey What if I take Tim or Jason with me?
Dick Im fine with that.
Aubrey Okay then I will ask one or the other later
Dick okay. Are you ready to go home?
Aubrey Yeah
When Aubrey and Dick got home Aubrey texted Tim then went up to bed. She was still a little mad at Dick for not letting her go on patrol by herself so she didn't talk to him the rest of the night.
Next Morning
Aubrey woke up to her alarm. She quietly got out of bed and got dressed trying not to wake Dick up. She went downstairs after putting on clothes and made herself a cup of coffee then left for work.
When Dick got up her noticed that his wife was already gone. Usually they talk before both leaving for work, but since they are both stubborn that obviously didn't happen. So instead of his normal routine he got dressed silently then left the house for work.
Time skip to 4:30pm
The couple got home at the same time like usual. They both walked into the house and up to their room not exchanging words. They both put their gear. Dick spoke breaking the silence.
Dick Im sorry.
Aubrey Dick you don't trust me to keep myself safe.
Dick It's not that Aubrey I do trust you. But I don't trust Gotham.
Aubrey Dick we have had this conversation before. We are trained by the exact same people. We were literally trained in the same room as each other. We grew up sparring each other. And with my powers I-
Dick cut her off
Dick I know. But that doesn't stop me from worrying about you Aubrey. You are literally my life. If I lose you I don't know what id do.
Aubrey You're not going to lose me. I promise. I will still take Tim with me if thats still what you want.
Dick Thank you.
Dick walked over Aubrey and kissed her on the forehead. They then both walked down to the basement. Dick Zeta'ed to the Watch Tower and Aubrey the Batcave.
