3 weeks later.
The waiting room of the hospital was quiet. Artemis drove Aubrey to her apartment because Dick was out on patrol. Five minutes after Dick finally showed she was called back. Aubrey was what you could say less than pleased to say the least.
Nurse
Aubrey Grayson
The three stood up and walked back with the room. Aubrey sat up on the table and Dick, Artemis sat in the chair on the side of the room. When the OBGYN walked in she started to speak.
Doctor
Hello Aubrey how are you feeling today.
Aubrey
Im good I'm feeling some pressure on my left side though.
Doctor
Do you mind
Gesturing towards Aubrey's stomach.
Aubrey
Not at all go ahead.
The doctor walked over to Aubrey and laid the table down a little more.
Doctor
Will you sit back for me.
Aubrey laid down then the doctor put her hands on Aubrey's stomach feeling around.
Doctor
Does it hurt when I press.
Aubrey
No not at all.
Doctor
I don't feel anything major going on but I'm going to do some bloodwork just to make sure. And then after that we will do an ultrasound.
Aubrey
Okay thank you
The doctor walks out to of the room.
Dick
You have been feeling pressure?
Aubrey
Yeah but it doesn't hurt.
Dick
Why didn't you tell me?
Aubrey
Because I didn't think it was any to be concerned about. It was just a little pressure. And we are not even gonna talk about why you were late today because that is a whole other conversation.
The doctor walks back into the room pulling a cart behind her. she grabs Aubrey's right arm and sanitizes it then sticks the needle in to. She find up 3 little tubes of blood then left the room again.
Dick
I still think you should have told me.
Aubrey rolled her eyes.
Aubrey
Richard I don't wanna get into this right now. We can talk about it later.
The doctor walked back into the room.
Dr
Okay let's get this ultrasound started. Would you like to know the gender today?
Aubrey
Uh not but can you write it down and put it in an envelope for us please.
Dr
Yup sure thing!
Aubrey
Thanks
Dr
So this is going to be cold.
Aubrey
Im pretty used to it by now.
The doctor's brows furrowed.
Dick
Is everything alright Doc.
Doctor
Yeah yeah everything is fine. Im just getting two heart beats.
Dick
Well isn't that normal Aubrey's and the baby's heart beat?
Doctor
Sorry let me rethink my words. Im getting three heart beats.
Artemis
What does that mean?
Doctor
It means Congratulations you're having twins.
Aubrey
T-Twins oh my god we need to do more shopping.
Dick

Aubrey
Oh you can just give them to Artemis right there.
Dick

He grabbed Aubrey's hand and squeezed it.
