Found, Yet Seemingly Fleeting

Birds sang their morning melodies as the sun began to peak of the Mondstat gate. The Good Hunter's line continued to get longer with eager breakfast-goers, and each shop began to set up for a day of business.

Normally, by this point, Garret and Scaramouche would have started their first patrol of the day.

Normally, Mona would be arriving at the Catherdral to preform magic for the morning church attendees in attempt to scrape up some extra mora.

But not today.

Today, Mona and Garret sat slummed over some pillows on her livinng room floor, fast asleep.

Monas wall, (which is normally covered with pictures of all the different constellations she had seen,) was instead replaced with a gigantic bulletin board.
Various photos of Scaramouche (which she just so happened to have in abundance), were plastered across the board, with along with various photos of different places across Teyvat. A long red yarn and different pastel colored thumb tacks connected them all.

Mona had gone full detective.

"Aggghhgg....."

Garret rolled over onto his side, his eyes slowly fluttering open.

He sat up, every muscle in his body aching.

"What the...."

He felt a tingling sticking sensation on his cheek. Raising his hand to touch it, he realized it was a wrapper from a sub sandwich he had eaten for lunch the day prior.

"Gross..." He mumbled to himself, flicking the thin sheet off his fingers and onto the hardwood floor.

He looked to his left to Mona, who was quite clearly out like a light. She had collected 4 separate pillows to serve as her bed: One for her head, one which she snuggled to her chest, another which she was holding by her ankles, and one that lied on top of her, acting as a blanket.

"Mona, wake up." He loudly said.

Mona stirred.

"Mona, wake up."

...

"MONA."

Mona shot up from the ground and jumped to her feet, pillows flying everywhere.

"WHOS THERE?"  She yelled.

"Literally just me you dipshit." Garret said

Mona snapped back into reality, and her cheeks flushed red. "Ah... sorry... was having one of those weird dreams you know..."

"Whatever."

"Ok I get that's it's been a week and a half now, and that we were up till like 2 in the morning trying to pinpoint Scara, and you're tired and all, but lately  it's like you forgot to take your anti-sassy medication." Mona said, annoyed.

"I just woke up and he you go already attacking me."

"I literally was not-"

Garret gave Mona a questionable look.

"Fine whatever. My apologies or something. Can we go get food? I don't have the patience to doordash again." Mona added.

"Alright, go get dressed. I'll just wait here." Garret told her.

"Do you ever wear anything other than that stupid little fatui suit?"

"Not really no."

"Like... genuinely ever? Only that suit?"
