Her sternness felt like it was raising to an insane travel of seven hundred and fifty miles per hour, and I couldn't help but  shrunk back from her harden stare.

Damn...I knew I messed up when my mother, Aiko Ruiz turn on her heels and without question walked further through the house.

I mean did I even blame her? It was way past midnight that I came and woke her and my dad, Sebastian Ruiz, up from their sleep and to make it worst...I haven't been to Spain since five years.

Until this gala with no communication between us and that was entirely all my fault.

Swallowing, I scoffed as Rafael chuckled softly as he strolled in behind me.

The main reason for my lack of communication to my parents was because I left Spain to America on a gymnastic scholarship to pursue my dreams as a die hearted powerful athletic gymnast.

That dream clearly didn't work out as I struggled with English which caused me to drop out of college, living on the streets for a while which was where River and I met.

He helped me with English language until I found myself falling in-love with solving crimes by the collection of evidence and not to mention, to also put smiles on citizen's faces.

This love for being a cop took a full three hundred and sixty degree hate when I turned in my resignation three months ago.

I could not stick around, pretending as if I was righteous when I had plans of committing felony.

So now I was unemployed and felt as free as ever.

And I was fine with that.

"So that's how you play it Red, you just went away for five years... five years and not even a soap. Not even a drawls."

My Jamaican mother scoffed, her messy large grey and black curly hair popping out into the air.

She was thick, her wide hips was very prominent through her black PJ romper jumpsuit as she had a white robe over it. On her left hand, identical tattoos like my father ran from each fingers which held her wedding ring up to her arm.

Her dark skin was exactly like mine except for her unique eyes. Her left eye was dark brown while the other was amber which sometimes appeared gold.

"Oh come on mom, not even a yow, you good? soap should be the least of your problem right now I mean my health ain't a concern now a days?" I chuckled.

She scoffed while griping her robe tightly. "Tell me whose fault dat is likkle girl? Bout health. Bright. You wake me up out of my bed and to my surprise nuh Red and her absence that mi see a tag a long, you are the one that nearly deteriorate my health."

I held up my hands in mock surrender, trying not to laugh. "Aight, aight, I get it, Mama. I messed up, I know..."

She shook her head, eyes narrowing, but I caught that tiny smile at the corner of her lips. "Mess up? Girl, you almost gave me a heart attack! Five years, you gone... and now you showing up at midnight, midnight enuh when cock soon put on him drawls like I didn't just turn off my brain to sleep!"

I chuckle at her extraness but I honestly thought she'd curse me out worst than this she was very stern unlike my dad who is very laid back. I then quickly squealed as I ran across the room to him. He was tall, wide shoulders, had a hectic amount of tattoos that overtook his tan skin like a second layer.

He had on a circular framed brown prescription glasses which matched his dark brown eyes. Between his eyes structure his straight nose which was a bit crooked. Three straight lines ran through his right eyebrow as he tilt them up in surprise.

He had a mop of black and grey curly hair which was shaved at both sides of his head, he had thick grey hair, dusting across his wide jawline down to his broad chin.

"Niña, ¿eres tú? Dios mío, te he extrañado mucho..." (Baby girl is that you? oh my God, I have missed you so much)

Tattoos went up to his neck as his Adam's apple bob, and I smile as I saw my name just on the side of his neck.

I was an only child and always thought it was a curse at first but now I accepted it.

My dad was the first person who taught me how to dance, allowed me to fall in love with gymnastics because he once represented our country in the Olympics and won twenty gold medals, straight.

I thought I'd do the same but since therapy, I learnt that every one's journey was different, you just have to find a way to cope through your life difficulties.

My mom was a neurosurgeon at a private hospital so most time she wasn't home. Since my dad was a young retired well off athlete back then, he'd spent his days with me.

Teaching me how to read and sharing scriptures and instances about God.

They both were great parents, even though they were busy, they always made time for me.

Yet the fact that they didn't know the amount of struggles I've went through over the courses which started at the very age of seventeen in a country I knew nothing about and now standing at the age of twenty two, I knew they'd burst into tears..

But my story would be told later...

"Sebastian she has grown tremendously don't it?" My mom smiled as we all hugged, their bodies rocking in tears and for the first time in six months, I allowed the tears to fall.

But this time it wasn't in grief but in happiness.

"Oh my God, how rude of a host we are."

Mom wiped her eyes and then walked over to an awkward looking Rafael who was still donned in his two piece dark brown suit, which housed a white dress shirt inside and had a few buttons pop open showcasing his chest area , his dark brown and white bow tie hanging loosing around his neck.

His messy brown curly hair was wild along with his hazel eyes which I knew wanted to sleep because of the amount of time we've spent tracking Xavi Valentino.

I was the one to be blame, I was pretty persistent that week. A lack of sleep because I needed to kill the bastard and just as nothing stopped Artem from using me to hurt Lorenzo, I concluded to used the same energy.

"Reeddd..." My mom sang as she embarrassedly clasp Rafael cheeks and then pinched it which allowed the poor man to blush.

"Mom!" I frowned at what she'd done.

My dad cleared his throat and I knew what that meant there and then so before I gave them any idea, I blurted out.

"Rafael and I are just work friends no need to get idea's dad and mom."

"That's indeed correct Mr. and Mrs. Ruiz." Rafael throw his hands up and smiled, it dropped as he looked over at me and I knew my dad was glaring at him.

Yeah, my dad can get pretty scary when he's serious.

My mom huffed and chuckled, still staring up at Rafael who quirk a brow at her.

"Just to let you know, we have a guest house in the back yard so if y'all wanna get down and dirty its fine."

I slap my forehead at what she said and toss Rafael a glare as he snickered.
