*you go in and sit down Yelena can tell you're nervous so she sits with you and holds your hand Clint signs for you as tony speaks*

Tony: okay so I need you to try them on so that I can adjust the volume and frequency to make sure they're right for you it might take us a few tries to get it right 

*you nod and hands you a small case with them in you take them and put them on*

Tony: are you ready?

*he turns them on and you immediately hear a loud ringing in your ears you jump and cover your ears in pain he quickly turns the frequency down and the sound dulls It's still there but It's better*

Tony: can you hear me?

*you nod but keep your hands over your ears everything is muffled but they're a lot clearer then the ones you had in the red room he changes some more settings and the ringing stops he turns the volume down so It's not as overwhelming for you It takes you a few minutes to get used to them Yelena sees you relax again slightly*

Yelena: Is that better?

*you nod and put your hands down you listen to the various sounds coming from machines in the room It's muffled and sounds like you're underwater*

Clint: Yel and I were wondering if you want us to keep teaching you sign? Dreykov should have let you learn it 

*you nod and then speak cringing at the sound of your own voice*

Y/n: he didn't even know I was deaf until the age of 6 I was just punished for not listening he didn't want a broken widow 

Yelena: you're not broken Y/n you never will be 

*Jarvis makes an announcement which makes you jump*

Jarvis: Mr Banner would like Natasha Romanoff and Y/n to go to the lab

*IT was too muffled for you to hear so Yelena repeats It you let out a sigh and look down*

*signs*

Yelena: what's wrong?

*signs*

Y/n: nothing I'm fine I'm just tiered
